Claire performed like a veteran at the Top 250 expo. She was quick and decisive in the open floor, slinging strong passes with either hand. She has a useful floater that she has so much confidence in, she attempted one left-handed (it missed). Her cutting relieved pressure and opened up scoring lanes, and later on in the day she found her shooting stroke.
Lauren Kohl Lauren Kohl 5'8" | CG Elkhorn South | 2022 State NE – Elkhorn South 22’
Lauren did a little bit of everything last Saturday for her team. She plays excellent defense and rebounded with authority. She has a slight frame but doesn’t play like it. She absorbs contact and finishes strong in the lane. She is skilled enough to run the offense and facilitate.
Darian Winkelbauer Darian Winkelbauer 5'7" | PG Millard North | 2022 State NE – Millard North 22’
Darian knocked down several corner threes throughout the day, and proved to be a threat driving and kicking out. Even though she was one of the smallest players in the gym, she had a knack for finding rebounds.
Darby Ryan – Bennington 23’
Darby was the vacuum cleaner of the group, cleaning up after her teammates all day long. She was always around the rim ready to tip back in a miss or to grab a rebound and quickly throw it ahead to start the break.
Grace Huntwork Grace Huntwork 5'9" | SG Gretna | 2022 State NE – Gretna 22’
Grace helped Darby clean up messes in the lane and bought her team some extra possessions with her rebounding ability. She also was effective as a screener in the pick and roll. She was able to find soft spots in the defense where she settled in for easy looks at the basket.
Emily Williams – East Mills 23’
Emily was tasked with protecting the rim for this group and she did a stand-up job in her minutes. She secured several blocks early and it became a deterrent for the opposition. Many guards would barely glance at the basket after penetrating, knowing a tough interior shot contested by Emily is not a recipe for successful offense.
Aaniya Webb Aaniya Webb 6'0" | SG Omaha Central | 2022 State NE – Omaha Central 22’
I can’t say enough about this player, or the performance she turned in at the Expo. She was the most versatile player in attendance, showing athleticism, strength, and finesse on both ends of the court. She is an excellent passer and it is fun to watch her seek out difficult passing opportunities.. She is a true three-level scorer, and can hit it from DEEP. Having her high school point guard Claire Williams Claire Williams 5'5" | PG Omaha Central | 2022 State NE to run with made her that much more comfortable, and that was bad news for every opposing defense.
