We had over 30 prospects from multiple states in the gym for our 2026 PGH Nebraska Expo on Sunday morning. There were several players that did a good job of showing some promising moments throughout the day. The five hooper listed below are all individuals who competed at a high rate all day while being main producers out on the court.

Every coaches favorite player at this event was Lily Hansmeier. Hansmeier was productive. Plain and simple. Offensively, she was a three level scoring threat on the catch or off the bounce. She hit open jumpers when they were presented to her and she never seemed to settle. She always looked for a GREAT attempt, instead of a good one and that's noteworthy. Defensively, she was always one of the first players on the ground for a loose ball and she consistently was causing chaos with her tips/deflections because of her active hands/feet. I expect Lily to be the star of her high school team this Winter at Standing Bear. She should have the rock in her possession coming down the floor each time so from there it's all about what she can do with it.

Nahla Sand came out of no where to be quite honest. I covered the state of Nebraska for a few years as an evaluator in the recent past and I had never heard of this name until Sunday, which shocks me because this is someone who could 100% play at the college level at some division level once she graduates high school. Sand is an able bodied Guard, that can move between the 2 and 3 spots on the court. She can handle enough to bring the ball up as well but I wouldn't say that is her go-to when it matters. She would much rather get open down the court in transition to keep the defense on their toes as much as possible. Sand possesses decent size, strength to pair with that size, a smart head on her shoulders, and a fundamental play-style, which could ultimately take her places within this game moving forward with the correct guidance. She was one of the best in the gym on Sunday overall and I think that says a lot.

There was several nice things said about Kenzie Bagby to myself from the coaches and refs throughout this event. Some thought that Bagby was the best player in the gym for the day. Others said she was the second or third best. Either way - those are really nice compliments that Bagby should be proud of. I thought that she did a great job of coming in from another state and playing her own game. She stayed aggressive on offense while attacking and she never let up on defense. She stayed down, making her individual matchups work their tails off to produce in any little sort of way. Bagby is rated as the #30 overall prospect in the 2029 in Utah. When you watch her play-style and realize that she is only going to be a Sophomore this Winter then you start to notice the promise that she truly possesses at this time.

Destini Holverson has grown so much within this game over the last twelve months. Holverson is a fast acting PG with great instincts and natural ability with the basketball in her hands. On Sunday Holverson really excelled on offense. She hit multiple shots, from several different offensive levels throughout the day. She also worked really hard on defense trying to get her hands on the ball each time down the court. My advice throughout the day for Holverson was to play a little more calculated on defense whenever she can. If she just stays in front of her opponent and makes her turn her hips several times during a possession - they are going to starting giving you the ball at some point because that wears on people. All in all though, great showing and overall day for D.H.

Shai Meyer was a last minute addition to this event and she did a great job of coming in and making her mark on both ends. Meyer might be listed as a PG but she played more off of the ball on Sunday when she had other PG's around her. Meyer demonstrated that she is a force while going toward the basket. Her combination of speed, strength, and athletic ability help her dominate almost anyone that might step in her way once she gets into the teeth of the defense. She isn't afraid of contact but more-so welcomes it, which only adds to the positives she brings along with her to the hardwood. Defensively, she has the ability to switch between multiple spots and that's something coaches love to see/work with. I keep telling everyone in Iowa to watch out for Cedar Falls over the next few seasons. Their younger teams are STACKED and that could take them places, sooner rather than later.
