A number of Florida’s top 2021 girls prospects have made early decisions on where they will be attending college. It started with Samara Spencer Samara Spencer 5'8" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2021 State FL to Arkansas back and ever since then the 2021 Florida prospects have been flying off the board!
Kayla Blackshear Kayla Blackshear 6'1" | PF Lake Highland Prep | 2021 State #61 Nation FL (Lake Highland Prep / Central Florida Elite) – ALABAMA
Blackshear’s recruiting really spiked last summer for Central Florida Elite on the EYBL circuit where she finished the season as one of the nations top rebounders. She has an extremely high motor, is very active on both ends of the floor, and is constantly around the basketball. Her athleticism and length combined with how hard she plays every possession will translate well in the SEC at Alabama.
Kendal Cheesman Kendal Cheesman 6'2" | PF HB Plant | 2021 State FL (HB Plant HS / Tampa Bay Thunder) – Vanderbilt
Cheesman early commitment to Vanderbilt came as a bit of a surprise as details of her recruitment were not very public. The six-foot-two wing/forward is a versatile player that can play inside out on the offensive end. She can score both on the low block and high post with fifteen-foot range and run the floor well. She averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game at HB Plant in her junior year. She has a ton of potential and has a chance to be special with her intense competitiveness and length as a wing player.
Chaniya Clark Chaniya Clark 6'2" | PF Fort Myers | 2021 State #96 Nation FL (Fort Myers HS / Team Knight) – North Carolina A&T
At 6’4, Clark aka “Baby Shaq” is a major force on the court. Her size is obvious and catches your eye immediately but there is more to her game than her size as she has great hands, deceptive athleticism for her size and excellent foot work. She has been a prospect that college coaches have been following for several years and was on the national radar as young as 8th grade. She made the early decision to verbally commit to NC A&T this spring and her rare combination of size, mass, skill, athleticism, and versatility will allow her to be a major force for the NC&T Lady Aggies and Head Coach Tarrell Robinson.
K’Nisha Godfrey K’Nisha Godfrey 5'9" | CG Tampa Bay Tech | 2021 State FL (Tampa Bay Tech / Essence) – MISSISSIPPI STATE
Godfrey recently made her commitment to Mississippi State and new Head Coach Nikki McCray through a social media video this May. The 5’9 guard is considered one of the top players in the state of Florida and a top 100 prospect nationally. She is an extremely athletic, strong guard that can score in bunches. Prior to committing to Mississippi State, she was also considering Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Eno Inyang Eno Inyang 6'2" | C St. Cloud | 2021 State FL (St. Cloud HS / East Coast United) – CLEMSON
Eno is big 6’4, strong, young post. She has a unique combination of strength and athleticism that will give her the opportunity to be an impact player in the ACC. She is a dominant rebounder who has a solid skill set and is a force 5 feet and in around the rim.
Emily Jimenez Emily Jimenez 5'10" | CG Cardinal Gibbons | 2021 State FL (Cardinal Gibbons / Team Knight) – MONMOUTH
The junior guard picked up an offer from Monmouth University and wasted no time accepting it this spring. The 5’10 guard was instrumental in Cardinal Gibbons success averaging 11.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. She is an aggressive on ball defender who can knock it down from deep and has excellent handles and court vision.
