<strong>Grassroots Superlatives: 2022 Best Passers</strong>
Superlatives for the best of the best that I saw this offseason.<strong>

Execution is the name of [player_tooltip player_id="194708" first="Cayla" last="Cowart"]’s game. While she can provide some flare from time to time, she’s more concerned with making the right play at the right time. She’s a smart and skilled passer in transition, hitting teammates in stride with textbook bounce passes. Cowart’s passing and dexterity allow her to provide strong minutes at either guard position.
<strong>5-4 PG [player_tooltip player_id="159357" first="Katelyn" last="Dunning"] – Peak Performance Miller – Mt. Paran<img class="wp-image-206822 size-thumbnail alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/09/30_Katelyn-Dunning_2-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></strong>
One of Georgia’s smallest guards but also toughest, [player_tooltip player_id="159357" first="Katelyn" last="Dunning"] is a dynamic point that can hurt teams in a variety of ways. She a confident shooter and a skilled ball handler that can breakdown defenses. Being low to the floor, Dunning is able to scoot in sharp bounce passes through tight quarters to teammates. Her role in organizing the Mt. Paran offense is an important one.
<strong>5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="118143" first="Bridget" last="Utberg"] – FBC BounceNation Jay 2021 – Woodstock</strong>
Maybe the flashiest player in Georgia, [player_tooltip player_id="118143" first="Bridget" last="Utberg"] scores in bunches and delivers highlights each game. Utberg has no issue going behind her back in traffic or wrapping the ball around her waist on layup attempts. She can drop off pinpoint no-look passes and manipulate defenses however she sees fit.
<strong>5-9 PG [player_tooltip player_id="153116" first="Dayuna" last="Colvin"] – JustUs League – North Cobb<img class="wp-image-206880 size-thumbnail alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/09/95_Dayuna-Colvin_2-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></strong>
A bigger point guard, [player_tooltip player_id="153116" first="Dayuna" last="Colvin"] has great size to see overtop of defenses and handle pressure. She can score the ball when needed, getting downhill and scoring from the perimeter, but she takes much pride in her ability to set up an offense. Colvin gets the ball to where it needs to go without it sticking. She will be the primary focus for North Cobb this season after graduating All-State guards [player_tooltip player_id="118073" first="Azonya" last="Austin"] (Alabama A&M) and [player_tooltip player_id="153140" first="Sydney" last="Thomas"] (Kentucky State).
