PGH Showcase: Session 1 Award Winners

The PGH Showcase had multiple award winners with several standouts in different departments. After the completion of session 1, announcements were made for the Top Shooter, Top Hustler, Top Stock Riser and MVP. The winners are all listed out below for their outstanding performance at the showcase. <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Session 1 Top Shooter:</strong></span></h4> 2022 5’3 PG [player_tooltip player_id="185644" first="Ciera" last="Jorge"] (West Seattle HS) may be small in stature, but she can hit shots from deep range without hesitation. Her confidence and quick release from behind the arc makes her a threat at all times in the half court or in the transition as she is always looking for just a bit of space to let it fly. Well deserving of being named the top shooter from session 1. <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Top Hustlers:</strong></span></h4> This was supposed to be an award handed out to a single player, but 5’1 twin sisters [player_tooltip player_id="196573" first="Rowan" last="Cusack"] and [player_tooltip player_id="196572" first="Riley" last="Cusack"] made that seemingly impossible as they both flew all over the court making plays on both sides of the ball. Both are pests on the defensive end and really push the tempo on offense with a relentless dribble drive and dish attack, mixed in with an array of runners and floater shots. Easily two of the hardest working players from session 1. <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Top Stock Riser:</strong></span></h4> 2021 6’1 PF Sarah Litchford (Ridgeline HS-UT) came into the showcase as a D3 prospective student-athlete and walked away from the showcase with folks saying she could easily be playing at the D2 or even lower D1 level. Her size, toughness and footwork around the basket was as good as any player that attended the showcase. Litchford showed an array of finishes including step throughs, reverse layups and drop steps. An extremely impressive performance for the uncommitted 2021 forward. <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Session 1 MVP:</strong></span></h4> The Most Valuable Player from session 1 went to none other than 2022 6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="27938" first="Camille" last="Jentzsch"] of Lake Stevens High School. Big Cam ran the floor hard, cleaned up a lot of misses and finished in the paint, while anchoring the boards on the defensive end. Her ability to finish with her left hand throws off defenders many times in the paint. Even better, she was rewarded for her performance with an offer from Eastern Washington University. *Feature image
