Saiter’s Top “Putting on a Clinic” Players of the Week

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to watch some outstanding players from Roger Bacon, Mount Notre Dame, Hiland, and Liberty Union! Here are some players that "Wowed" me with their overall game! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="32600" first="KK" last="Bransford"]- PF/G, 2022, Mount Notre Dame: </strong>KK makes every move look so easy! The way she attacks the basket is done with such control, and beautiful to watch- and a nightmare for any opponent. She can do it all.. but what I love the most about her, is her endless supply of energy! Wherever she chooses to go for college, they will be getting a gem! She's big time! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="211793" first="Abby" last="Wolterman"]- F, 2022, Mount Notre Dame: </strong>Another special player, with tremendous athletic ability! Her long frame, coupled with aggressiveness and quick instincts makes her a beast on defense, with blocks, picking pockets, and denying passes. She's a scorer, can hurt you inside or outside. How she plays on both ends caught my eye! (<em>Featured Picture)</em> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="173070" first="Laila" last="Phelia"]- SF/G, 2021, Mount Notre Dame: </strong>This future Michigan Wolverine is so impressive, not only with her shooting (which is deadly behind the arc, pull up jumpers, or anywhere in the lane), but her passes- and getting her teammates involved. Unselfish player who is an aggressive play maker, and can do it all! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91067" first="Clarissa" last="Craig"]-PF/C, 2021, Roger Bacon: </strong>Clarissa proves to be one of the best Power forwards/ Centers in the game. She brings so much to the table for Roger Bacon, and will certainly take care of business at the next level for Cincinnati! She is powerful, with pretty spin moves, great footwork, and body control that makes her very difficult to stop in the paint. <strong>Sammi Hoffman- SG, 2022, Roger Bacon- </strong>College coaches, this guard can play ball! She was on fire from behind the arc against Mount Notre Dame, with 5 three's!  Her passes were spot on, and made wise choices on transition. She played with composure, and did a nice job with quickly releasing her shots, against a very strong defense. Very impressed with her performance! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91075" first="Zoe" last="Miller"]- F, 2021, Hiland- </strong>Miller, who has already had an outstanding high school career as a three-time All Ohioan, proved yet again on Saturday just how much of a dominating force she is! Fantastic body control when taking the ball to the basket, cleans up with rebounds, pretty passes, text book perfect drop step moves on the block, and draining 3's! She's everywhere on the court! Bowling Green is getting a great player! <strong>Kelsey Swihart- F, 2021, Hiland- </strong>This future Malone University player played very well on Saturday. What impressed me with Kelsey was her baseline moves to the basket. Her strong, athletic frame, makes her difficult to stop in the paint. She can hit deep 3's as well. Love how she moves without the ball, and wears out defenders. <strong>Caroline Berlekamp- PF, 2023, Liberty Union- </strong>Berlekamp, is a strong, tall, and athletic power forward who is effective at finishing and controls the paint. She runs well in transition, can hurt you on the block with her drop step or mid-range shots, and defensively, she's not afraid to play physical! Her volleyball skills come in handy with blocking in basketball! You will definitely be hearing her name these next 3 years- very bright future!
