It’s the Holiday season and the songs are all over the radio. We’ve all heard ’The Twelve Days of Christmas" . Well, welcome to the "12 Days of Basketball". Let’s see what Michigan gave to us on each of the days. On the 1st day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 1 Superstar Back [player_tooltip player_id="26677" first="Morasha" last="Wiggins"] (G/F, Kalamazoo Central) We missed you Miss Wiggins. She a S.T.A.R. and I’m not the only one that can’t wait to see her finish her return from injury and lace them up for high school season. On the 2nd day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 2 young wings [player_tooltip player_id="189309" first="Kynedy" last="Brown"] (SF, Kalamazoo Central) Brown is an explosive wing that can score in bunches. [player_tooltip player_id="190722" first="Kaitlyn" last="Sanders"] (SF, Birmingham Groves) Combine her skills with the A+ coaching staff at Groves, and watch out. On the 3rd day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 3 summer stars [player_tooltip player_id="189293" first="Faith" last="Carson"] (C, Buchanan) Carson exploded onto the national recruiting scene this summer. She’s one of the top post prospects in the country, if you ask me. [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"] (PG, Grass Lake) She played so well that she received a bevy of offers. She was an absolute playmaker in the backcourt. [player_tooltip player_id="147724" first="Avery" last="Zeinstra"] (PG, Byron Center) It felt like Zeinstra barely ever missed a shot. She scored at an extremely high rate this summer. On the 4th day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 4 top 100 players [player_tooltip player_id="26677" first="Morasha" last="Wiggins"] (G/F, Kalamazoo Central) Wiggins is one of the best all around defenders in the country. [player_tooltip player_id="4132" first="Damiya" last="Hagemann"] (PG, Detroit Edison) She’s a showtime point guard and one of the best open floor passers in the midwest. [player_tooltip player_id="27966" first="Bree" last="Salenbien"] (SF, Lenawee Christian) Salenbien has the physical tools of a next level star. By next level, I’m not talking about college.....I mean the NEXT level. [player_tooltip player_id="4142" first="Jillian" last="Brown"] (CG, East Grand Rapids) She’s the pride of Grand Rapids and for good reason. Brown is steady as they come and an elite shooter. On the 5th day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 5 defensive stoppers [player_tooltip player_id="190185" first="Meagan" last="McCalla"] (PF, Chelsea) She was such a versatile defender at the Top 250. [player_tooltip player_id="227299" first="Brynn" last="Reams"] (PF, Ionia) Reams bring energy and effort to the defensive end. [player_tooltip player_id="28017" first="Shannon" last="Wheeler"] (PF, Detroit Renaissance) Wheeler is one of the best all around and most versatile defenders in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="138326" first="Shealyn" last="Tripp"] (SF, Michigan Center) Tripp loves when she’s given the opportunity to cover an elite scorer. [player_tooltip player_id="138366" first="India" last="Respress"] (SF, Chandler Park) Respress is an elite wing defender that can put it into shut down mode. On the 6th day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 6 rim protectors [player_tooltip player_id="138298" first="Ally" last="VanTimmeren"] (PF, Jenison) [player_tooltip player_id="138329" first="Emily" last="Dixon"] (PF, Chippewa Valley) Dixon uses her length to alter shots in the paint. [player_tooltip player_id="147748" first="Hannah" last="Toutant"] (C, Macomb Dakota) Toutant is a physical center that can control the paint defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="147738" first="Evie" last="Doezema"] (C, Grand Rapids Christian) Doezema just gets the job done. She makes every shot difficult. [player_tooltip player_id="147791" first="Kate" last="Jacobs"] (C, Hartland) Jacobs is a defensive difference maker. She blocks shots regularly. [player_tooltip player_id="179087" first="Adelaide" last="Douglass"] (C, Mattawan) Douglass can enforce her will in the lane, moving opponents at will. On the 7th day of basketball, Michigan gave to us: 7 star post players [player_tooltip player_id="27970" first="AJ" last="Ediger"] (PF, Hamilton) Ediger is a smooth 4 that will eventually average a double-double....at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="27968" first="Alana" last="Micheaux"] (PF, Wayne Memorial) She’s a beast in the paint and plays aggressively on both ends. [player_tooltip player_id="138317" first="Madisyn" last="Tillman"] (C, East Kentwood) Tillman has, plain and simply, looked tremendous in the summer and fall. [player_tooltip player_id="147719" first="Alecsis" last="Smith"] (C, Bay City Western) Don’t be surprised if someday Smith averages a triple-double. [player_tooltip player_id="188583" first="Sarah" last="Rambus"] (PF, Flushing) Rambus was incredibly impressive this summer. She ran the floor and attacked the boards. [player_tooltip player_id="189278" first="Janae" last="Tyler"] (C, Holt) Tyler has all the tools needed to be considered one of the best centers in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="189279" first="Lexi" last="Boyke"] (PF, Frankenmuth) Boyke is one of the most versatile post players in the state. She can bang in the paint as well as pull her defender away from the rim and beat them off the dribble.
