‘s senior year is a perfect example of why players should look more at their long term development and goals. She came in as a powerful post player that could bully opponents. Then she added a mid range game and a a perimeter game, eventually becoming one of the better passing post players in the state. Carson battled through injury in her high school career, but it all led to this senior season. Well this year, she dominated like we knew she could and would. Carson easily averaged a double-double in points and rebounds. Quite frankly, she consistently dominated the paint. Carson will be headed to Ohio State to continue her basketball career and education. Just wait Buckeye fans, you have a special one on the way.

Carson is having the type of senior season that she deserves. All her hard work has led to this run that her Buchanan team is making. The future Buckeye will be tough to stop. Even if they can deny Carson the ball down low, she can step to the perimeter and make pretty passes to her teammates.

Carson might just be this season’s Miss Basketball and games like this are exactly why. She dominated the regional final with a triple-double. Carson had 29 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocks. That’s flat out willing your team to a win. She also scored her 1000th point in the game. If Carson continues to dominate the paint like this, Buchanan will have more wins in waiting.

Carson was just destined to be here. The future Buckeye fought through injuries and has battled to become the best basketball player that she can be. Carson has accomplished that goal with a red hot senior season. Her stat lines look like video game numbers sometimes. While Carson dominates that paint with power like no other in the state, that’s really just the beginning of her game. She has range on her jumper and is a very underrated passer. Carson has great court vision and can feed the post as well as find open shooters with the pass when she has the ball on the perimeter.

This one seems obvious. Carson doesn’t have to depend on her power because her game is very well rounded. That being said, it’s still a huge weapon in her game. Good luck to any opponent trying to win position under the rim. I always tell post defenders to do their work before their opponent gets the ball, but even then, what are they supposed to do?

Santa needs some power to pull the sleigh. If power is what you’re looking for, Carson is a great place to start. She can play bully ball in the paint, but is also one of the most skilled post players in the country.

There wasn’t much that Carson couldn’t or didn’t do in this game. My pen ran out of ink trying to mark every single rebound and blocked shot. She had to be pushing a triple double. Carson worked so well off the high post and we saw some good court vision when she passed over top the D.

If you had Carson at number 1 on this list, I wouldn’t tell you that you’re wrong. It’s not incredibly often that a true post player wins the award, but this could be one of those years. Carson is currently Prep Girls Hoops #1 ranked senior prospect.

Carson is a generational high school talent in my opinion. We all get it, she’s stronger than almost anyone that she’ll match up with in high school. But don’t be fooled because bully ball is not her game by a longshot. It’s merely a part that she can play. Why do I think she’ll be special at Ohio State? It’s her perimeter skills. Carson has tremendous court vision, is an excellent passer, and can keep the defense honest from outside. I’m not going to make any predictions, but reference this article if she’s named an All B1G player because I think it’s possible.

As my loyal readers probably know, I’ve forever been a huge fan of Carson’s game and supporter of her growth and development as a player. I truly believe that the sky is the limit for this young lady. Very rare are the players with her combination of brute strength under the rim and her vision and passing ability on the perimeter. Carson has made some very big strides in her foot speed and footwork and those will serve her game greatly, both in high school and when she heads to Ohio State.
