With the start of the abbreviated girls basketball season just a couple of weeks away, we decided to rank New Jersey’s best players. Normally, player rankings are done by class. For the purpose of this eight-part series, we grouped everyone together.
Let’s debate!
21. [player_tooltip player_id="134641" first="Alana" last="Robinson"], Pope John: The small forward is one of the top defenders in the state. Whether it’s blocking a shot or getting a steal, she always seems to make the big play. Her overall stats from last season jump off the page – 16 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.6 blocks per game.
22. The 5-10 senior is one of the best defenders in the state, dives for loose balls, always makes the extra pass and is a deadly three-point shooter.
25. [player_tooltip player_id="134639" first="Madison" last="Schiller"], Ramapo: Ramapo emerged as a top-10 team in the state last year and they have the all-around play of Schiller to thank for it. She fits the definition of a two-way guard, getting it done on both ends of the court.
