2021 6-2 W [player_tooltip player_id="148888" first="Lauren" last="Walker"] – Marietta Michigan State-signee [player_tooltip player_id="148888" first="Lauren" last="Walker"] looked impressive in Marietta’s rout of Dacula. She’s a matchup nightmare with her ability to score inside and out. She can score in the post overtop defenders and can attack off the dribble, popping from the mid-range. Walker finished through contact inside against Dacula and drew fouls, going 6-7 from the line and finishing with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 5 blocks. Walker has game-changing skills and elevates Marietta to a championship level when she’s locked in. 2023 5-8 G [player_tooltip player_id="247666" first="MaKayah" last="Harris"] – Marietta MJ Harris’ development has been a key factor in Marietta’s success. While she might not have one elite skill per se, Harris is wildly effective across the board in every facet of the game. MJ can be found all over the floor. She plays with infectious energy on both sides of the ball serving as an energy provider. Even while playing full blast, Harris rarely ever overdoes it. She plays within herself and makes the right decisions often. She finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 10 steals vs. Dacula. Harris scored on hard drives and was relentless on defense. Her motor and improving skillset make her an interesting prospect at the next level. 2022 5-7 SG Catherine Alben – Grayson Known for her elite quickness and first step, Catherine Alben is becoming more than just a transition slasher. Alben hit two threes in her 23-point outburst against Rockdale. She tacked on 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals as well. Alben has blazing speed and is as good as it gets in transition when she gets going. Scoring in the half court has been an area of emphasis over the course of her development. Her three-point shot is getting better and better as teams try to eliminate driving lanes. Her athleticism on defense helps make Grayson’s 2-3 zone effective. 2021 5-7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="192131" first="Nadia" last="Howard"] – Grayson The South Alabama-signee canned 4 threes in Grayson’s 72-66 win. Howard has a pretty looking shot and the ability to get to the basket when needed. Listed at 5-foot-7, Howard plays taller that her height and has good instincts. She’s a valuable playmaker that can suck in defenses to create open looks for teammates. Howard had 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. 2021 5-9 W Alana Moore – Rockdale County One of the most impressive players I saw for the first time was Alana Moore. She’s a strong wing that has athleticism and aggressiveness. At 5-foot-9, she plays bigger than her size, using her motor to attack on offense. Moore had some nice drives vs. Grayson, getting to the hoop and finishing in a crowd. Moore showcased a soft touch. She hit on pull-up jumpers and was efficient in the high post. Alana is quick off her feet and can compete on the glass. She ended with 20 points and 8 rebounded. She could be a nice late sleeper for a program looking for a competitor that can help play multiple positions. 2022 5-5 PG [player_tooltip player_id="148901" first="Kehinde" last="Obasuyi"] – Carrollton Back from tearing her ACL in the preseason a year ago, [player_tooltip player_id="148901" first="Kehinde" last="Obasuyi"] is a gamechanger in the Carrollton backcourt teaming up with [player_tooltip player_id="118100" first="De’Mauri" last="Flournoy"]. Even with a knee brace on her right knee, Obasuyi has above average speed and can turn corners in the blink of an eye. D-II programs will want to track her right away. Though undersized, Obasuyi is a playmaker. The southpaw uses her court vision to find open cutters. She changes speeds well and has high IQ. She did a great job defensively against Newton, able to move her feet to stay in front of drive-minded guards. 2023 5-11 W [player_tooltip player_id="154587" first="Kanija" last="Daniel"] – Carrollton Already holding SEC offers, [player_tooltip player_id="154587" first="Kanija" last="Daniel"] is a habitual stat sheet stuffer. She can do it all on defense. Daniel has an aggressive mindset and a high motor to boot. She has a very good wingspan and can anticipate plays on defense. Kanija is able to guard 1-5 and presents mismatches on offense. She can space out the floor and attack on hard drives. Her most impressive sequence was when she blocked a shot, got the rebound and went coast-to-coast for a bucket. Daniel totaled 8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 4 blocks in a 62-41 win over Newton.
