<strong>Shanley - 49</strong>
<hr />
<strong>West Fargo</strong>
West Fargo started out the game and first half very slow and didn’t look like the team they’ve been all season long. They got themselves in a 0-7 hole and [player_tooltip player_id="211403" first="Chloe" last="Pfau"] scored the teams first two points at the 15.02 mark in the 1st half. At the 13:45 mark the score was 12-2.
[player_tooltip player_id="211403" first="Chloe" last="Pfau"] - 19 points (3 threes) - Chloe started off slow in the 1st half, but is one of the top prospects in the state and she showed it in the 2nd half. Had a huge 2nd half and became the go-to player late.
[player_tooltip player_id="215744" first="Miriley" last="Simon"] - 16 points - 12 rebounds - Showed good skills and creativeness on a quick, fading turnaround. Also, showed some good range from two by sinking a deep jumper when given space.
[player_tooltip player_id="207394" first="Jessica" last="Walsvik"] - 2 blocks - Plays behind top 3 2023 prospect in Simon, so her opportunities were limited in this matchup. Had an early foul called on her. Had an impressive block on Srejma where she showed athleticism to get with the 6’4 center.
[player_tooltip player_id="98741" first="Brynn" last="Giesen"] - 6 rebounds - 4 assists - Played aggressive ball pressure on point guard Busek as she crossed half-court —forcing her into early passes.
[player_tooltip player_id="240176" first="Taylor" last="Van Winkle"] - 5 points - 5 rebounds - Taylor competed on the defensive end and was very active and played extremely hard. Came up with a ton of loose balls and created second chance opportunities — they just failed to capitalize.
<strong>Shanley</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="195719" first="Moriku" last="Hakim"] - 14 points - 10 rebounds - Showed very good lower body strength sealing the post defender deep and holding her ground. Has an effective quick spin-move off the post defender to finish or draw a foul.
[player_tooltip player_id="99822" first="Emily" last="Srejma"] - 12 points - 11 rebounds - Emily had a very nice game and was a huge factor in Shanley upending West Fargo. 6’4 and has a beautiful looking shot that is very soft. Hit a mid-range swish early in the game.
[player_tooltip player_id="98717" first="Kate" last="Busek"] - 10 rebounds - 5 assists - The University of Jamestown commit rebounded the ball very well, attacking the ball in the air from taller players. Also, very good at tracking the ball as it comes off the rim and hits the ground. A great up- court passer and facilitator in general.
[player_tooltip player_id="196870" first="Lydia" last="Mattern"] - 8 points - 3 assists - A starting guard for Shanley that has surprising quickness and is a threat when given time/space. Can shoot the three and score in transition. She had a nice off-the-glass transition two to continue the Shanley run.
[player_tooltip player_id="219721" first="Jetta" last="Mevold"] - 5 points - 3 rebounds - 3 assists - Jetta plays sound basketball for a Freshman — on both ends of the court. Takes care of the ball and doesn’t turn it over. Doesn’t make the “wow” play but is very solid and un-phased for a 2024 in a big game. Great shot selection and IQ, hitting a wide open corner three in the 1st half.
[player_tooltip player_id="99823" first="Hannah" last="Hoedl"] - 5 points - A leader/role player that is an important part in the Shanley offensive and defensive structure and how their operation goes. A composed prospect that does a nice job at cleanly getting the ball into Mo Hakim and Srejma. Shoots efficient shots and has good shot selection and simply understands how to play the game and understands all of its facets.
[player_tooltip player_id="244226" first="Margaret" last="Shorma"] - 4 points - Impressively, went off-the-dribble into a floater for two. An ultra-long 6’0 that has great potential going forward.Not just tall and long but has ball skills as well. Has three-point range.
