Sunday afternoon, for the 40th consecutive year, Hoosier Basketball Magazine hosted their Top-60 workout to showcase what they consider to be the best Seniors around the Hoosier state. The event took place at Beech Grove High School, and it was split into two Sessions. Session II ran from 3:30-5:30 p.m. EDT and featured mostly players from the middle third of the state. Below is a look at those specific players, broken down by which team they were on throughout Session II.
Blue Blazers
[player_tooltip player_id="130390" first="Averi" last="Davidson"], 2021, 5-5 CG, North Central H.S. (Farmersburg), St. Mary-of-the-Woods College
- Averi had sort of rough season, seeing two of her classmates go down and unable to play for much of the season. With the load squarely on her shoulders, she averaged 19.6 points and buried an impressive 76 3-pointers.
[player_tooltip player_id="10721" first="Tyra" last="Ford"], 2021, 5-9 SF, Anderson H.S., IUPUI
- Tyra was clearly one of the better athletes during Session II, and she has typically been the best athlete on the floor most games throughout her career. She plays extremely hard, she has a nose for the ball, and she can defend.
[player_tooltip player_id="130409" first="Emma" last="Litzelman"], 2021, 5-7 SG, Cardinal Ritter H.S., Hanover College
- Emma was a late fill-in for someone, but she showed what she always does. She plays with a great motor, she does a lot of the "little things" to help her teams win, but she also has a balanced skillset and good quickness.
[player_tooltip player_id="130312" first="Zakia" last="Rasheed"], 2021, 5-8 CG, Bishop Chatard H.S., University of Akron
- Zakia is a strong and physical combo guard with a natural all-around feel for the game. She has nice vision with the ball in her hands, she can run offense, but she’s also a good shooter and a nice downhill attacker.
[player_tooltip player_id="35057" first="Isabella" last="Reed"], 2021, 5-9 CF, Greenwood Christian Academy, Indiana Wesleyan University
- Over the last four years, Isabella has proven to be one of the most well-rounded and versatile players the state has seen. She can play inside and battle, she’s great in the mid-post, plus she’s comfortable and skilled outside.
[player_tooltip player_id="130313" first="Katey" last="Richason"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Zionsville Community H.S., Miami University (OH)
- Katey is a unique combination of size, strength, and skill. She has a powerful frame and can battle inside, but she also has the skill of a wing. She is a good shooter, a solid passer, plus she can make plays off the dribble.
[player_tooltip player_id="10660" first="Ariana" last="Wiggins"], 2021, 5-8 PG, Heritage Christian H.S., University of Michigan
- Throughout the duration of her career, Ariana has been one of the front-runners to contend for the coveted 2021 Miss Basketball award. She is explosive, shifty, quick with the ball, and she can flat score it...27.6 ppg this year.
[player_tooltip player_id="130334" first="Maycee" last="Woods"], 2021, 5-9 SG, Plainfield H.S., Taylor University
- Maycee has been an enjoyable prospect to follow over the years. When she was younger, she was more of a spot-up wing shooter. But she has developed into more of a smooth, fluid ball-handler and playmaker off the bounce.
Green Giants
[player_tooltip player_id="130323" first="Tyranny" last="Brown"], 2021, 5-8 SF, Heritage Christian H.S., Southern Illinois University
- Tyranny is a strong, physical, and aggressive point forward type. She has a solid handle and good vision, she’s shifty with the ball in her hands, and she’s looking to attack, make plays, and/or distribute each time she touches it.
[player_tooltip player_id="130386" first="Kenadie" last="Fernung"], 2021, 5-5 CG, Tri-Central H.S., Trevecca Nazarene University
- Kenadie is probably the most accurate definition of scrappy in this group. She has some length, good speed and quickness, and she hustles all over. She does a little of everything as a guard. She averaged 21.2 ppg this year.
[player_tooltip player_id="99389" first="Natalie" last="Howard"], 2021, 6-0 PF, Ben Davis H.S., Uncommitted
- Natalie has always been an athletic talent. She has a wiry strong frame, she’s bouncy, and she gets up and down the floor with ease. This year, she showed a more developed offensive game, as she led Ben Davis in scoring.
[player_tooltip player_id="35022" first="Moira" last="McGinley"], 2021, 5-7 SG, Bishop Chatard H.S., Uncommitted
- When Moira is playing, someone always comments about her motor. She is tough-nosed, very fast North/South, and she is a nice defender. The last two seasons, she has become such a dangerous scorer, she draws chasers.
[player_tooltip player_id="99361" first="Alexa" last="McKinley"], 2021, 5-8 PG, Columbus North H.S., Olivet Nazarene University
- Alexa has been a rock of stability in the Bulldogs’ lineup the last few years. She is skilled on or off the ball, she can knock down shots outside or attack the basket, and she is a willing and capable defender with solid athleticism.
[player_tooltip player_id="10679" first="Alex" last="Richard"], 2021, 6-1 PF, Avon H.S., Butler University
- Alex is one of the more under-appreciated prospects in this class. She plays hard, she is a good athlete with strength, and she loves physicality and rebounds it aggressively. I also think she’s more skilled than people think.
[player_tooltip player_id="62526" first="Jayla" last="Smith"], 2021, 5-11 SG, Lawrence North H.S., Purdue University
- Jayla was just a 5-5 Freshman on the JV team in 2017, but she flashed a great deal of potential. Now, she’s a big-time prospect, a Big Ten signee, and a front-runner for Miss Basketball. She is just so long, smooth, and skilled.
[player_tooltip player_id="10723" first="Mary" last="Wilson"], 2021, 5-10 SF, Center Grove H.S., University of Denver
- Mary is a highly skilled, hard-working, and intelligent wing who can really shoot the basketball from long-range. She has done a nice job developing her handle and overall skillset, but she’s incredibly crafty and anticipates well.
Red Raiders
[player_tooltip player_id="35013" first="Katie" last="Burton"], 2021, 5-9 SG, Fishers H.S., St. John’s University (NY)
- Katie is a tough-nosed attacker who is looking to score the ball on each catch. She is great getting to the basket and finishing, but she has added a more consistent jumper and a much better mid-range pull-up to her game.
[player_tooltip player_id="130320" first="Carley" last="Culberson"], 2021, 5-8 CG, Yorktown H.S., Lander University
- The Carley I saw Sunday reminded me of the one I saw as a Freshman...extremely active, quick, fast, athletic, and just a nice playmaker who can bury shots outside or attack the basket to score. Lander got a steal in Carley.
[player_tooltip player_id="99364" first="Courtney" last="Fields"], 2021, 5-7 CG, Cathedral H.S., Uncommitted
- I’ve always enjoyed Courtney’s speed, quickness, and overall athletic ability, but I felt like she looked much stronger this year. She can get inside the defense and score at the basket, plus she’s a nice on-ball defender.
[player_tooltip player_id="99397" first="Madison" last="Gray"], 2021, 5-10 CF, Union County H.S., Uncommitted
- Madison is an incredibly versatile small school kid who had a very productive career. She is great in the mid-post, where she can shoot or drive. But she can play on the block or around the perimeter as well. She’s also an active rebounder.
[player_tooltip player_id="62538" first="Chloe" last="McKnight"], 2021, 5-8 SG, Bedford North Lawrence H.S., University of St. Francis (IN)
- Chloe has been known for her ability to bury shots with deep range, plus she has a very quick release. She has worked on becoming a more complete scorer, and this year she attacked the basket and got to the line a lot more.
[player_tooltip player_id="130310" first="Meg" last="Newman"], 2021, 6-3 CF, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis), Arizona State University
- Meg showed her elite level talent Sunday, as she looked effortless making plays from all areas. She has the size and strength to play inside, but she’s highly skilled around the perimeter, plus she’s a nice athlete with some bounce.
[player_tooltip player_id="62569" first="Maddie" last="Patterson"], 2021, 5-9 CF, Danville Community H.S., Hope College
- Maddie is another effortful inside-out type of forward. She is great in the mid-post, and she can get to the rim and finish in one dribble. But she also has nice touch outside. The lefty also has a nice overall basketball IQ.
[player_tooltip player_id="99380" first="Karly" last="Sweeney"], 2021, 5-7 SG, Salem H.S., Indiana University Southeast
- Karly is a gritty, tough-nosed, high-motor player who competes on every possession. She is a nice North/South attacker who can finish inside, but she can also shoot it outside. She will rebound, plus she is a sound defender.
Yellow Yankees
[player_tooltip player_id="130402" first="Katherine" last="Benter"], 2021, 5-9 SF, Brownstown Central H.S., Hanover College
- Katherine has always been a valuable part of the Brownstown lineup, but this year she averaged 21.2 points per game. She has some length, a versatile skillset that allows her to handle & create, and she will rebound & defend.
[player_tooltip player_id="62532" first="Madelyn" last="Bischoff"], 2021, 5-10 SG, Roncalli H.S., Uncommitted
- I’ve been as big of a fan of Maddie’s as anyone, and I think she does a lot more skillfully than just act as a knockdown shooter, which she is. She can handle it and run offense, plus she can glide through the lane and finish inside.
[player_tooltip player_id="62546" first="Audra" last="Emmerson"], 2021, 5-6 PG, Fishers H.S., Purdue University-Fort Wayne
- Audra is kind of unassuming when she takes the floor, but once she gets the ball in her hands, she is a playmaker. She is an on-target passer, she can get inside the defense and create, plus she can shoot it with deep range.
[player_tooltip player_id="130321" first="Irye" last="Gomez"], 2021, 5-9 SG, Bedford North Lawrence H.S., Lindsey Wilson College
- I feel like Irye was under-recruited over the years, and Lindsey Wilson should feel lucky to have her. She is long, wiry strong, and fluid/smooth. She handles the ball at times and creates, but she can score it at all levels too.
[player_tooltip player_id="22702" first="Zayda" last="Hatfield"], 2021, 5-8 CG, Terre Haute South Vigo H.S., Uncommitted
- Zayda is a nice talent who remains uncommitted. She’s a good athlete in all directions, she has quickness and length, plus she is skillful. She can handle and run offense, attack and create, or knock down shots at all levels.
[player_tooltip player_id="130317" first="Nakaih" last="Hunter"], 2021, 5-11 PF, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis), IUPUI
- Nakaih has been one of the most productive Panthers over the last four years. She plays with a motor, good toughness and physicality, and she battles bigger players often. She is a talented 15-feet-and-in type of scorer.
[player_tooltip player_id="130348" first="Paige" last="Ledford"], 2021, 5-11 PF, Jac-Cen-Del H.S., Thomas More College
- In her four years, Paige has helped Jac-Cen-Del to three Regionals, plus she joined the 1000-point/1000-rebound club this season. She has a strong frame, a great motor, and really nice touch to 3-point range. She helps teams win.
[player_tooltip player_id="99416" first="Lexi" last="Shelton"], 2021, 5-8 SF, Mount Vernon H.S. (Fortville) - University of St. Francis (IN)
- Lexi is a high IQ, skillful wing who plays like a coach’s daughter. She is an outstanding shooter with deep range beyond the 3-point line. She uses her strength to attack the basket downhill, and she will get inside and rebound.
[player_tooltip player_id="10665" first="Ally" last="Becki"] of Brownsburg High School, [player_tooltip player_id="62527" first="Bridget" last="Dunn"] of Carmel High School, and [player_tooltip player_id="62535" first="Pa’Shence" last="Walker"] of Martinsville High School were also selected to participate with this group, but unfortunately none of them were able to participate due to different reasons.
