The featured image is of [player_tooltip player_id="182148" first="Jesse" last="Ledgerwood"] of Washington High School and Indiana Pride Attack. Saturday was the annual Easter Weekend Flight Shootout. Typically held at Triton Central High School, this event has expanded to also utilize Shelbyville High School, and Bear Country was the site for most of the high school teams participating in the event. To follow are several Seniors-to-be who stood out during the games I was able to see at this event. [player_tooltip player_id="270064" first="Grace" last="Adams"], 2022, Bishop Chatard H.S., Indiana Pride Xtreme Grace was actually a fill-in player for the weekend, as the Pride team was missing some kids. She is a smaller point guard prospect, but she is quick, fast, and feisty. She is a pass-first kid, she has great vision, and she was able to make several small-window passes. I also enjoyed how she defended the opposing ball-handlers. [player_tooltip player_id="267397" first="Shamarah" last="Allen"], 2022, South Bend Washington H.S., Indiana Flight Northwest Shamarah is a long, wiry strong, and tremendously bouncy and athletic prospect. She is probably most valuable right now as a versatile defender who has a nose for the ball and can rebound anything. This Spring is a great opportunity for her to show college coaches how skilled she is offensively as well. [player_tooltip player_id="182141" first="Madelynn" last="Denny"], 2022, Mooresville H.S., Indiana Red Storm Madelynn manages the point guard position about the way most coaches would want. She is tough-nosed, physical, strong, and she takes care of the basketball. She plays with a lot of feistiness, but she has good vision, a nice handle, and she can bury shot after shot from the perimeter. She also defends with effort. [player_tooltip player_id="243567" first="Lily" last="Ernstes"], 2022, Jennings County H.S., Indiana Red Storm Lily was all over the place Saturday, and that’s to no one’s surprise. She plays with an outstanding motor, and she is always around the ball. She can play inside and finish around taller, longer prospects, she has a great mid-post game, plus she can play around the perimeter. She is a versatile defender as well. [player_tooltip player_id="128141" first="Olivia" last="Faust"], 2022, Franklin Central H.S., Indiana Pride Attack I continue to be impressed with Olivia’s total game. She is a talented shooter with a quick release, and she needs very little space to get her shot away. But, she can also handle it a little, she can slice to the basket and score, plus I think she can be an effective defender because of her length. She just needs more strength. [player_tooltip player_id="267400" first="Jaidn" last="Green"], 2022, Evansville North H.S., Indiana Pride Xpress Jaidn is a strong-for-her-size, quick, fast, and explosive little point guard. She does a nice job of changing speeds and has really good burst to get by defenders. She can knock down the occasional perimeter jumper, but she’s best get into the paint and collapsing the defense. She is also a ball hawk defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="128142" first="Megan" last="Kain"], 2022, Castle H.S., Indiana Flight South Megan is kind of an unsung player for her teams, because she doesn’t necessarily accumulate big statistics, however she does a little of everything well and always contributes. She is a nice athlete with some length, she can handle on occasion, she’s a quality defender, and she can make open jumpers outside. [player_tooltip player_id="182148" first="Jesse" last="Ledgerwood"], 2022, Washington H.S., Indiana Pride Attack Jesse is a strong, tough-nosed, feisty point guard prospect. She plays with some physicality, and she does a solid job of attacking the basket downhill. She is a nice perimeter shooter as well, and she’ll work hard at the defensive end of the floor. I just like her overall grit, determination, and competitiveness. Taylor Lynch, 2022, Madison Consolidated H.S., Indiana Flight South This was my first time seeing Taylor play, and she did a lot of nice things on the floor. She has a wiry strong, athletic frame, she moves well in all directions, and she can play multiple positions. She can create off the dribble, she has nice form and touch to 3-point range, and she can defend a variety of guards and wings. [player_tooltip player_id="128206" first="Montasia" last="McAllister"], 2022, Lawrence Central H.S., Gym Rats 16U EYBL-Hollins Montasia was a fill-in for this team at this event, as she is regularly on the Gym Rats-Kam 17U team. She has always been an intriguing prospect and she put together a nice day in limited minutes. She is long, fluid/smooth, and she can make shots at all three levels. I expect her to have a nice Spring/Summer. [player_tooltip player_id="243572" first="Ryan" last="Owens"], 2022, Martinsville H.S., Indiana Pride Xtreme Ryan is kind of a late-bloomer in a deep 2022 class at Martinsville. I first saw her last Fall, and now she looks stronger and more assertive. She has good length, solid athleticism, and she’s a nice North/South athlete who can play at all three levels. She has good perimeter skill, but she can play in the mid-post as well.
