<span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Some girls had their best performances at the State Tournament. Take a look below at the top eight performers combined from all the classes.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153323" first="Kalissa" last="Lacy"] - George Washington (AAAA) - 2021 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153323" first="Kalissa" last="Lacy"] got her state tournament presence started with a bang. Lacy led George Washington to a quarterfinal win over Woodrow Wilson where she put up a tournament-high 37 points. Lacy followed with a 15 point performance in a tough semi-final defeat against Cabell Midland.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153382" first="Kaylea" last="Baisden"] - Tug Valley (A) - 2022 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153382" first="Kaylea" last="Baisden"] got her name out there in arguably the biggest week in her basketball career. Baisden came out being very consistent because she had 25 points in every game through the tournament. Leading the tournament in total points with 75 points. Her shot from behind the arc was a strong spot, but her grit to get to the basket and finish through contact proved to add to her total.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153371" first="Dionna" last="Gray"] - Huntington (AAAA) - 2022 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153371" first="Dionna" last="Gray"] is arguably one of the best defenders in the state of West Virginia. Her on-ball defense and grit are what makes her tough to compete against. No one wants a piece of [player_tooltip player_id="153371" first="Dionna" last="Gray"]. However, on the offensive end, she will get her production. A super high IQ leading to tons of great assists and smart plays. One of the quicker players she will get by you and get open looks at the basket. Huntington had their back to the wall against 8 seed Martinsburg when Gray stepped up to have 26 points in the second half and survive the scare. Huntington would end up winning the next two games with Gray’s leadership and be the class “AAAA” State Champions.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153325" first="Skylar" last="Davidson"] - Wyoming East (AA) - 2021 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153325" first="Skylar" last="Davidson"] and Wyoming East were one of the scrappier teams to play in Charleston. Davidson started her state tournament run with a 28 point win over Mingo Central where she had 19 points, 7 assists, and 10 steals. She would follow up the next game with 17 points, 14 assists, and 7 steals. In her final game as a Wyoming East Warrior, [player_tooltip player_id="153325" first="Skylar" last="Davidson"] went out with a bang. Putting up 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, but most importantly the class “AA” State Championship trophy.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153374" first="Leslie" last="Huffman"] - Parkersburg Catholic (AA) - 2022 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Arguably one of the best double “AA” players in the state and a top 2022 prospect [player_tooltip player_id="153374" first="Leslie" last="Huffman"] led Parkersburg Catholic to the State Title game. Huffman started with 16 points and 9 rebounds in their quarterfinal win over Ravenswood. In the semifinal game, Huffman led with 22 points, 10 assists, and 7 steals. Parkersburg Catholic would drop the State Championship game against Wyoming East as Huffman had 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists and steals.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153429" first="Taylor" last="Maddox"] - Nitro (AAA) - 2023 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153429" first="Taylor" last="Maddox"] had a slow sluggish start playing for her first time at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center. Maddox in the opening game had 10 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals as they would take care of Midland Trail. The second game was a whole different story for Maddox. [player_tooltip player_id="153429" first="Taylor" last="Maddox"] dropped a season-high 30 points for Nitro in their semifinal win knocking off the 2 seed North Marion. Maddox had everything going for her especially from behind the arc. Maddox had no choice but to take over in the championship game where she led the team with 17 points to stun top-seeded Fairmont Senior and get 3 seed Nitro a State Championship.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153370" first="Marley" last="Washenitz"] - Fairmont Senior (AAA) - 2022 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">A well-known name in the state of West Virginia is 2022 guard, [player_tooltip player_id="153370" first="Marley" last="Washenitz"]. Washenitz had a solid week playing on the biggest stage in the state. Washenitz led Fairmont Senior in their quarterfinal win over Lewis County where she recorded 18 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Washenitz would have a double-double in their semifinal win over Logan where she had 26 points and 10 rebounds. Washenitz would hit a cold shooting spell in her final game for Fairmont Senior this year as the Polar Bears would fall in the championship.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153342" first="Karlie" last="Denham"]- North Marion (AAA) - 2021 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153342" first="Karlie" last="Denham"] came out firing in their opener for the State Tournament. Denham recorded 29 points from 11 of 18 shooting. She would add 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Denham wouldn’t have things going so far for her in their semifinal loss against Nitro but still had a strong performance.</span>
