Abercrombie did plenty of Abercrombie things when her Generals matched up against 1A Christ Church. She scored 16 points and may have put even more on the board if it were not for Wade Hampton having built such a lead that it enabled the team’s starters to rest for much of the second half. As impressive as her scoring and rebounding is, she arguably can be even difficult to contend with on defense. Abercrombie can follow where the ball is when the opposing team has possession and looks to make things difficult for that opposing ball handler which can make her turnover-prone.

Abercrombie did plenty of Abercrombie things when the 4A Generals took on Berea in the final game of Friday’s slate at Carolina HS. Because the score was so lopsided, she managed to garner plenty of rest in the second half of the matchup, but in the first half she displayed her assertiveness on both sides of the floor. Defensively, she made things difficult for who she was guarding and seemed to be one step of opposing offenses. Abercrombie scored often and had no issues absorbing contact to get to the free throw line. She also knew when the right times were to score and to distribute. She finished with 14 points in what was an emphatic Generals win over the Bulldogs. Abercrombie’s Generals finished as runners-up in the North Bracket.

(*PGH Preseason Player of the Year*)rnIf teams are going to earn victories over the Generals, keeping this multi-talented veteran star has to be tops on any coach’s list. She has also participated in volleyball throughout her athletic career in addition to her AAU exploits with SC Lady Sixers 17U. She is a versatile combo guard who may be listed as a small forward but can easily be mistaken for a one or two with her ball handling capabilities. Abercrombie has a lot of scoring prowess with a mid-range jumper and plays primarily at an up-tempo pace. She understands how to get to the rim through a sea defenders and can take a game over as a bucket-getter.
