<span style="font-weight: 400;">We chose the top five players from class “AAA” who performed the best at the State Tournament. Take a look below at our MVP and the four others.</span>
<b>MVP: [player_tooltip player_id="153429" first="Taylor" last="Maddox"] - Nitro - 2023 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Nitro sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="153429" first="Taylor" last="Maddox"] stepped up in key moments for the Nitro Wildcats. In their semifinal game, Maddox had 30 points to pull off the upset over 2 seed North Marion. In the Championship game when senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="153322" first="Baylee" last="Goins"] went out, Maddox stepped up. Leading the teams with 17 points. Maddox averaged 19 points through the three games and would help lead Nitro to the class “AAA” Championship.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153370" first="Marley" last="Washenitz"] - Fairmont Senior - 2022 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153370" first="Marley" last="Washenitz"] had all-around performances in all three state tournament games she played. Not only putting up the points, but getting rebounds, assists, and steals. Washinitz averaged 18.3 points per game.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153342" first="Karlie" last="Denham"] - North Marion - 2021 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153342" first="Karlie" last="Denham"] came out firing to kick off North Marion’s State Tournament appearance. Denham had 29 points on 11 of 18 shooting. She added 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals to her total. Denham wouldn’t have been as strong as the second game in their defeat against Nitro, but still had a solid Tournament.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153426" first="Olivia" last="Toland"] - North Marion - 2023 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="153426" first="Olivia" last="Toland"] had two solid games for North Marion. She averaged 19 points between the two games and helped get North Marion to the semifinals.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="153322" first="Baylee" last="Goins"] - Nitro - 2021 - Guard</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Nitro’s senior guard, [player_tooltip player_id="153322" first="Baylee" last="Goins"] top goal was to win a State Championship. Goins helped lead the Wildcats into the State Title after having two solid games averaging 17.5 points and knocking off the #2 seed North Marion. Goins was ready to play her biggest game as a Nitro Wildcat. Things started solidly for Goins in the championship until she would go down with an injury in the 2nd quarter. Goins didn’t return but still had a solid Tournament.</span>
