Similar to the 2024 and 2023 pieces, I try and boost prospects outside of the top tier. Much of the names inside the top 25 are well represented and will continue to get extensive coverage moving forward. For example, American Heritage Plantation and Blanche Ely each have plenty of names near the top of the class. Let’s look at some other prospects in the rising senior class... [player_tooltip player_id="91586" first="Aly" last="Avrach"] - Spanish River (PH. 36) [player_tooltip player_id="91586" first="Aly" last="Avrach"] is a talented backcourt prospect out of Spanish River in Boca Raton. The 5-foot-8 combo guard averaged a team-best 21.5 points and 4.7 rebounds on 42 percent shooting from the field. Moreover, Avrach went 51-of-129 (40 percent) from deep last season. Against Leonard, she buried eight 3-pointers for a season-high 34 points. Furthermore, Avrach scored 30 or more points in a pair of other games and knocked down seven 3-pointers. She clearly has the offensive green light and backed it up more times than not. In addition, I am impressed with her rebounding ability as a guard. Avrach grabbed six or more boards in seven games. She likely collected more than her season total (70) with further recorded information. Avrach is also a reliable free-throw shooter, knocking down 76-of-96 (79 percent) on the season. Avrach joins five other seniors next season that averaged more than 5.5 points per game. They will look to improve on their 9-6 overall record as juniors. [player_tooltip player_id="243967" first="Casey" last="Jo Lewis"] - Palm Beach Lakes (PH. 63) Replacing FIU signee Zadia Gonzalez (20.6 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="91541" first="Deborrah" last="Seitu-Redmon"] (12.6 ppg) will not be an easy task for the Lady Rams. The pair helped Palm Beach Lakes to a 12-2 record and a spot in the Class 7A final four. Next up in the lineup could be [player_tooltip player_id="243967" first="Casey" last="Jo Lewis"]. The 5-foot-9 forward finished third on the team in points (9.1), rebounds (4.8) and steals (1.9) per game. Moreover, Jo Lewis scored in double-figures in five contests. Given the losses to graduation, she will likely need more double-figure outputs next season. She showed spotty range from deep so that could help her in this instance. On the defensive side, she showed active hands with 25 steals and is a reliable rebounder. [player_tooltip player_id="219952" first="Amber" last="Mateo"] - Somerset Academy Silver Palms (PH.64) Mateo should be one of the top scoring options for the Stallions next season with the loss of 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="91488" first="Amari" last="Hunter"]. The 5-foot-4 guard averaged a steady 8.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals as a junior. Moreover, Mateo knocked down 42 3-pointers for the Lady Stallions. Against Palmer Trinity, she had 13 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals. That is a pretty nice stat line from one of your backcourt players. She clearly has a level of playmaking ability to affect different areas of the game. One aspect I would like to see her work on is her shooting efficiency. Mateo had six games (25 recorded) where she shot 40 percent or better from the floor. However, the senior captain could have a big year next season along with 2026 [player_tooltip player_id="243907" first="Ashley" last="Martinez"]. [player_tooltip player_id="244003" first="Monique" last="Joseph"] - King’s Academy (PH. 139) Joseph did some double-double damage last season for a Lions team that went 20-3 overall. The 6-foot power forward/center averaged 10.5 points and a team-best 10.2 rebounds last season. Moreover, Joseph grabbed ten or more boards in 13 games. I am impressed with her motor and determination to go after the ball off the glass. That is something that you can’t always teach and comes down to effort. Joseph collected 109 of her 234 total rebounds on the offensive end. Against Benjamin (10-7), Joseph had 15 points and 14 rebounds. She added nine other double-doubles on the season for The King’s Academy. [player_tooltip player_id="244209" first="Jordan" last="Pravato"] - Western (PH. 145) Pravato is a versatile prospect for the Wildcats out of Davie. The 5-foot-8 small forward averaged 11 points and 5.4 rebounds last season for Western. I also think she can play as a shooting guard or power forward in certain sets. Either way, Pravato is a reliable option on both ends of the floor. Against Dr. Krop (14-9), Pravato scored a season-high 23 points and knocked down five 3-pointers on 9-of-17 shooting from the floor. She also went a perfect 6-of-6 from deep and scored 22 points against McArthur. I say she can play multiple positions based on her perimeter shooting and rebounding. Pravato grabbed seven or more boards in six games. Against Monsignor Pace (14-5), she grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds. She forms a nice trio along with 2024 Tamara Elliot and 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="153108" first="Taja" last="Stephens"]. For any South Florida Prep Girls Hoops news or information..please contact Michael Costeines @Steins_23 on Instagram or follow him on Twitter @Mungertown_Mike23.
