The Prep Hoops Circuit features plenty of talent in the post and the Great Lakes Challenge was a perfect example of that. Let’s look at some of the top performances from post players at the Great Lakes Challenge. * This is not an all inclusive list, but a list of players that played well when I was able to catch their game. Hayleigh Amey (2024, MBA Timmers 2024, NorthePointe Christian) Amey was versatile, having an influence all over the floor. She trapped well and and helped create turnovers when her team applied pressure. Amey showed the ability to score facing the rim or with her back to the basket. She seemedd to always be mixed up in the play when she was on the floor. Ni’rah Clark (2024, 6-3, Ohio United 2024, Toledo Early High School) Clark can score both physically and with finesse. She Showed a pretty spin move toward the lane that she finished with a soft touch. Clark fought for the ball and rebounded well in traffic. Gabrielle Hale (2024, 5-11, Hype Athletics 2024, West Bloomfield) Hale played a very athletic game on both ends. She was active under the rim and proved that she could run the floor and finish. Hana Hescott (2022, MBA Lakeshore 2022 Flowers, West Ottawa) Hescott made an impression this weekend. She has a nose for the ball and uses her length on the glass. Hescott showed a quick spin move with her back to the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="147796" first="Markayla" last="Holland"] (2022, 5-10, Factory Elite, Waterford Kettering) It honestly felt like Holland could have effectively played 4 different positions at the Great Lakes Challenge, as she had an influence all over the court. She is an athletic player that moved smoothly and fluidly all weekend. Holland was active on the glass and showed a nice pump fake and take. Alaina Kellenberger (2024, 6-0, MSF Flight 2023, Stockbridge) Kellenberger was very comfortable playing with her back to the basket. She got a lot of looks at the rim by playing vertically and playing tall. [player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"] (2023, 5-10, Factory Elite, Riverview) I really like what Kincaid brings to the table as a player and prospect. She always finds a way to be a factor in the game. Kincaid moves without the ball. She can compete with big post players with the grit and heart that she plays with. Lola Lampley (2026, 6-2, Ohio United 2024, Fall Creek Valley Middle School) Lampley really made an impact on D. She used her length to alter shots and make the offense really think when they penetrated the lane. Wrigley Takats (2024, 6-1, Athlete Headquarters 2024 - 1, Perrysburg) Takats was impressive at the Great Lakes Challenge. She’s a long post player that has a soft touch around the rim. Takats rebounds high and stays pass ready in the lane. She’s solid at catching baseline and working over her right shoulder.
