Someone who is one of the most dominate players in the post throughout the state is Kate Ligon of Papillion Lavista South high school. Ligon stands between 6’0-6’1 and she is a beast when she catches near the basket. She has the ability to turn going either way, she can score using either hand over an alike sized defender, she has a plethora of counter-moves she can pull out of her bag if she gets cut off, and she has a good second jump to get rebounds/put-backs at a high rate. When I have watched Ligon play the only concern I have is how long it takes her to make her post moves. Her moves are always uniformed, fundamental, and strong but sometimes she doesn’t have time to pull out exactly what she is intending to. If she can tighten that up this next season, opponents better watch out.
