Mary Spry Mary Spry 6'0" | PF Jesse Carson | 2022 State NC | Lady Attack Elite | 2022
Spry (pictured above) drew a charge on defense showing off her IQ on that side of the ball. She slides from block to block getting open and showing off her shot. She is a strong post on the block even sealing off multiple opponents at a time. She was dominant in the paint for sure, and she is certainly showing that she is ready to take these talents to the next level.
Bruni Martinez Bruni Martinez 5'11" | PF Winston Salem Christian | 2022 NC | Lady Phoenix Rocky | 2022
Martinez worked her defender down to the block and showed off a nice spin move to get her points. She did well boxing out her opponents and being aggressive grabbing rebounds. She did a nice job sliding into help picking the pocket of her opponents. With the steal, she found her teammate cutting up the court cashing in on some transition points. She was acrobatic with some of her moves making sure she could shoot without someone blocking her shot.
Alisha Harris | FBC Carolina Elite Meadows | 2022
Harris was impressive with her understanding of help defense sliding over at just the perfect times to prevent her opponents from scoring. She constantly moves around her opponent to get into the right position to block their pass or shot. She does well hustling back on defense sliding in front of her opponent to block their path. She hustles after rebounds, too.
Valeria Batista | Charlotte Dream Elite | 2023
Batista plays effective defense even against opponents trying to drive from the top of the key against her. Her length scares opponents from making smart decisions in the paint leading to her getting blocks or deflections. She grabbed a steal and pushed it up the court herself finding an open teammate cutting to the basket. She runs the floor even when she doesn’t grab the steal or board ready for the lay up underneath the basket if she gets the pass.
