SCOH50 College Exposure Showcase- Part 1
Sunday at Shawnee State University, 100 basketball players assembled to play in the 4th annual SCOH50 College Exposure Showcase with two sessions of many top players from Southeast Ohio along with others from various parts of Ohio converged to participate in this event.
Over the next week, I will be looking at several of the players who stood out at the event, and focusing the PGH spotlight on Southeast Ohio.
Emma Fouch Emma Fouch 5'7" | SG Leesburg Fairfield | 2022 OH , 5-7 2022, Fairfield
Very talented shooting guard who first caught my eye with her incredible perimeter shooting ability. She can legit light it up from anywhere from the outside and behind the arc. She does have very skilled handles and showed some solid fundamentals with the basketball. I liked her ability to anticipate and adjust to the play in front of her.
Ashley Williams, 5-5 2023, West Carrollton
She is a Dayton kid who made the two-hour trip to Portsmouth, and the first thing she did that I liked, very similar to Emma, is her perimeter game. She has very solid discipline, a good basketball IQ and can light it up from the three. She does a good job turning her opponent on the defensive side of the ball.
Lexi Rucker Lexi Rucker 5'10" | SF Wheelersburg | 2023 OH , 5-10 2023, Wheelersburg
Lexi was another kid who showed good range on her scoring game. She also did a good job protecting the ball with good hands and she did a strong job on the boards. She showed the ability to grab the rebound and initiate the break with good court vision and a strong outlet. Heady basketball player, a lot of good skills.
Mia Vastine, 5-6 2025, Wheelersburg
This incoming freshman has very good handles and a great basketball IQ for being so young. She heads into her freshman season being able to see the floor well with good footwork and she can get to the rim. One thing I see she can improve on is her perimeter shooting, she is ok but would really strengthen her game by working on that aspect of the game.
Kate Ratliff, 6-0 2023, Canal Winchester
This Ohio Impact summer player showed the ability to hurt you in multiple ways. Not only can she move well without the ball, she is long and athletic with great floor vision and is a prolific passer. Loved her perimeter game including a strong pull-up 3 shooter. Good teammate and always looks for ways to help her team succeed.
