Overlooked Seniors (Part 1)

The 2021 season starts officially with practice in 5 weeks and as we creep towards October 15th, we’ll take some time to spotlight a few players who could be difference makers for their squads this season. Here’s a look at some 2022s who could make a splash this season. [player_tooltip player_id="323009" first="LynKaylah" last="James"], Bowling Green - Probably the front runner for 4th region player of the year, James never gets mentioned among the top Seniors in Kentucky. LynKaylah has great size and is a force in the post as a throwback center who can score all around the block and has polished post moves. She should getting looks from high D2 and low D1 schools. [player_tooltip player_id="154515" first="Shelby" last="Stewart"], Corbin - The 13th region is loaded with young talent but Shelby could make a splash as a 5th year Senior. Coming off a 2021 season where she averaged 16 points per game, her scoring is always going to be a factor for the Lady Hounds but her experience and leadership could be her biggest asset for a Corbin team with aspirations of getting to Rupp Arena in March. [player_tooltip player_id="320856" first="Tania" last="Woodall"], Bryan Station - Woodall led Bryan Station in nearly every category last season and could be the early favorite for the 11th region player of the year. Station returns almost their entire roster for Tania’s Senior season and the Defenders could be a dark horse contender for the 11th region crown. They’ll go as deep as Woodall carries them. [player_tooltip player_id="315867" first="Paige" last="Serafini"], Anderson County - Because their roster is so deep and balanced, there are multiple players for Anderson County who don’t get the shine as individuals that they would in other schools. Paige fits that bill. If she were at a smaller school, she’d be averaging 12+ points per game and getting plenty of shots. As it stands, Serafini will look to help Anderson back to Rupp Arena with hopes of a championship banner.
