Many players on the First Coast will be participating in The PGH 250. Not many showcase events are remaining and these First Coast players will be looking to make their mark in front of scouts and college coaches. It’s also another opportunity for these players to gain respect from their peers. Saraphen Robinson, 2022 Combo Guard (Mandarin High) the defensive specialist from Mandarin High School will be participating in the PGH 250 in Winter Haven, FL. Robinson can get to the rim with the best of them. The strongest part of her game is preventing the opponent from doing the same. Robinson rebound very from the guard position. Kayla Hardaway, 2022 SG (Andrew Jackson) has the heart of a lion and does a lot of things well on the court. She can handle the ball. Makes good decisions on the court and is at her best in the clutch. Hardaway shoots the ball well from behind the arc. She is also a solid defender that has very good on-ball skills. Indreauna Bargeron, 2022 PG (Andrew Jackson) is a true baller and she doesn’t worry about bigs being in a position to block her shot. She is coming right down the middle and dares someone to block her shot. She has more than just the mentality of a warrior. She has the game to back it up. For a guard her size she has an outstanding leaping ability. She shows the ball and can change the angle of her shot to get her shot off and other times she just out quicks the defender. Bargeron has a nice midrange game and can shoot the three as well. Aniya Hall-McDowell, 2023 Combo Guard (Andrew Jackson) is another talented guard that suits it up for the Andrew Jackson girls basketball team. The prevailing opinion is that Andrew Jackson has more talent than any other team on the First Coast. That opinion has merit when you combine this guard talent with that of [player_tooltip player_id="248563" first="Jazmine" last="Jackson"] who is one of the most talented guards in the State. Hall-McDowell has athleticism that is on par with Jackson and when she leaves the PGH 250 this weekend, she is hoping that others will know it. She will also put on display her quickness, her good mid-range game, and her stingy defense. Eris Lester, 2024 Combo Guard (Orange Park) leads the 2024 class into the PGH event this weekend. Lester has garnered a lot of notoriety over the past year and look for that trend to continue during this PGH event. Look for Lester to be in attack mode from the onset. She plays with an unmatched passion for the game. She is lengthy and athletic and she gets buckets. She uses her length to defend and will spend a lot of time in transition during this PGH event. Nia Blocton, 2024 Forward-Center (Ridgeview) enters this event with a lot of potential and little notoriety. She is one of the most athletic bigs on the First Coast and runs the floor like a guard. Look for Blocton to bring the intensity to the arena, especially in transition and on defense. [player_tooltip player_id="248345" first="Clare" last="Coyle"], 2024 Wing (Bishop Kenny) will be bringing her versatile game to this PGH event. Coyle can shoot the midrange, shoot the three, and mix it up in the paint with excellent footwork. Coyle is also a workhorse on the boards. Her ability to rebound the ball is the strength of an already versatile skill set. [player_tooltip player_id="248295" first="Claire" last="Coogan"], 2024 PG (Bishop Kenny) brings grit and determination to this event and also the ability to put the ball in the basket. Coogan is an excellent shooter and doesn’t back down from the competition. She handles the ball well and puts the offense in good situations with her basketball IQ. [player_tooltip player_id="248287" first="Kiyana" last="Hunter"], 2024 Combo Guard (Mandarin) will bring a very good skillset to the PGH event. Hunter is a very good three-point shooter, has very good speed, and can also take the ball to the goal. She plays the passing lanes well and has very active and quick hands. She tips a lot of passes and plays aggressive on-ball defense. Hunter is a very unselfish player with very good passing skills. She does a good job of feeding the “bigs” on the inside. [player_tooltip player_id="248349" first="Lena" last="Granuzzo"], 2024 Wing (Bishop Kenny) is a 5’10 guard who brings the three-ball to the event this weekend. She also brings height and will cause match-up problems for the shorter guards at the PGH event. Granuzzo also plays an aggressive style of defense. Nacoya Blocton, 2025 Wing (Ridgeview) is the youngest of the First Coast ballers to make the trip. The younger Blocton inherited that intensity gene from her sister Nia. The younger Blocton also has the ability to shoot from the outside, midrange, and behind the three-point line. There is a list of other players who are from the First Coast or have ties to the First Coast who will look to make an impact in this PGH event: Baily Gilmore (2023 Bradley Institute) , Olivia Williams ( 2023 Trinity Christian), and [player_tooltip player_id="166166" first="Asiana" last="Britt"] ( 2023 DME).
