Power 2 Play Sports Showcase: Part Two

*[player_tooltip player_id="316815" first="Kelsey" last="Koza"] - Severance (pictured above) Part Two on the high school showcase at Power To Play Sports from October 2nd is below. If you missed Part One, check it out here.

Alyssa Temple - Horizon - 2022 - 5'10"

Temple offers everything you want in a forward. She can run people over as a rebounder; she has confident moves with her back to the basket; and she's a really good shooter. Temple played this past Wednesday night at Metro State and hit three threes in the first quarter. She's a matchup nightmare and has already hit twenty-nine threes in her career at Horizon.

Jadyn Glasgow - Frederick - 2022 - 5'8"

Seeing this talented and energetic player made me super happy that I caught this event. Glasgow has put up big numbers at times (5 assists vs Niwot, 8 steals vs Mountain View, 15 points vs Severance, 10 rebounds vs Riverdale Ridge) but it's her spirit and wide open throttle that make you watch a gym full of kids and key in on one.

[player_tooltip player_id="316815" first="Kelsey" last="Koza"] - Severance - 2022 - 5'6"

Koza has a great shot and proved it by nailing forty trifectas last season (36%). She gives Severance yet another person to worry about (12.5 PPG) when trying to stop this fast-rising program. Coach Deric Yaussi has guided the Silver Knights from scratch to a realistic potential top-10 4A finish in just their second varsity season and third season as a program.

Elaina Seely - Castle View - 2022 - 5'10" Abby Nagel - Castle View - 2022 - 5'9"

I'm mentioning these teammates together because both run the floor well and play active, aggressive defense. Both are hustlers who've clearly been well-coached. Nagel offers a little more experience with 7.6 PPG for the Sabercats last year. But Seely is having a great off-season, has nice size at a very strong 5'10", and showed she's ready to take a big leap in responsibility for Castle View.

Andi Schissler - Platte Valley - 2023 - 5'9"

Our rankings team overall did a good job, adding a ton of kids to the lists and I think the rankings are as good as they've ever been on this site. But this long and athletic Schissler sister is one who was missed. She's top 50 in the '23 class or better and looked really good at the showcase. She scores inside, outside, handles the ball well for her height, and rebounds and passes well. Schissler ended her sophomore year with double-digit scoring in six of the final nine games of Platte Valley's 3A championship run.

[player_tooltip player_id="329411" first="Avery" last="Alcaraz"] - Fort Collins - 2025 - 5'7"

There are some really talented players in the class of 2025 (I know the site is collecting names for a '25 Watchlist. High school or club coaches can message @PGHColorado on Twitter with names). But I just haven't seen a ton with the poise of Alcaraz. The lefty guard will be a game-changer for Fort Collins. These showcase events tend to bring out some anxiety in most players but Alcaraz looked very relaxed out there and hit a ton of shots. She handles the ball with control and poise, too. The Fort Collins girls basketball program is really trending in a winning direction.

[player_tooltip player_id="145393" first="Aryanna" last="Perez"] - The Academy - 2022 - 5'6"

There are around 10,000 adjectives in the English language. The showcase coach I spoke with used the exact same one that I had in my notes to describe Perez's game: smooth. Perez makes splitting defenders to get to the rack look easy. She didn't play the toughest schedule with The Academy last year so I was excited to see her against this ambitious group and she did not disappoint. She can score from anywhere, would rather drive but certainly can shoot, and is an all-around contributor with a 2:1 steal-to-turnover ratio last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="145415" first="Cora" last="Schissler"] - Platte Valley - 2022 - 5'5"

Speaking of adjectives, the one I had for Cora is "tough" driver. I'll take a tough driver over a nice driver any day. The older Schissler sister has to be pumped for a monster senior year. She sits at 838 career points for the Broncos and, in addition to that toughness, has shot the ball north of 30% from behind the arc every season.

Taylor Schram - Haxton - 2022 - 5'8"

There are many more names I could mention but ninety minutes only allowed me to jot down so many notes. My notes on Schram said "selfless guard with really confident handles" and I love that combination. It was no surprise to check MaxPreps after the event and see that she had 4.7 assists a game last year (along with 9.9 points and 3.7 steals). Assists are incredibly underrated and I'm going to keep highlighting them on this site.
