Lakepoint Sports in Cartersville was the site for the festivities as five courts were utilized for the girls’ half of the event. In addition to the laundry list of talent that made the trip to Lakepoint out of Georgia, there were also players from neighboring states including Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina.
The bigs came up big at this year’s Top 250 Expo. Here is a look at who caught our attention near the rim.
Greta Kaper Greta Kaper 6'1" Mount Vernon | 2023 GA – 2023 – Mount Vernon HS – A conventional stereotype unfairly applied to fours and fives is that they struggle from the free throw line more than guards. Kaper is not one who struggles to hit free throws. She also does not struggle on the subject of being able of being able to make plays while in the low post. Another unconventional element of Kaper’s game is how she is able to hit and make 3-pointers in addition for her ability to make tough shots in the midrange game. She is one of the many 2023s who is poised for a huge 2021-22 campaign.
Jaleia Robinson Jaleia Robinson 6'0" | PF Dutchtown | 2025 State GA – 2025 – Woodland HS – One thing that there is no shortage of across Georgia is two-sport stars. Robinson is another one of those as she is used to another sport that plays on hardwood – volleyball. Robinson may be primarily a post player, but she is one who runs the floor very well. When she plays defense, she only knows one way to play defense and that is at 100%. Robinson will sink tough shots and has no issues with drawing contact to get to the free throw line. She rebounds and her offensive skillset also includes a midrange shot. On the travel circuit, she plays for Essence Xtreme 2025 Purple.
Megan Reed Megan Reed 6'1" | C Etowah | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Etowah HS – Speaking of two-sport stars, Reed is another and just was the case with Robinson also applies to the 6-foot big for the Eagles in that her second sport of choice is volleyball. Basketball-wise, she certainly brings a presence in the paint, which includes a knack for making effective plays on defense. These can include blocks in transition. Reed has no problem with taking and making midrange jump shots and can drive to the rim where she has a skill to beat double teams. The Eagles made it to last season’s playoffs and Reed will be an important piece for coach Rob Graner’s Etowah squad to make an even deeper postseason run.
Allie Duke Allie Duke 5'11" | SF Calhoun | 2025 State GA – 2025 – Calhoun HS – Calhoun is all in with Allie. And she is all in with the Yellow Jackets, a team coached by Jaime Echols that finished 12-11 last season en route to a playoff berth. She will give a boost to a team’s rebounding efforts. Even with her the presence she can create in the low post, she will display her versatility by running out onto the perimeter, spacing the floor and sinking shots from 3-point range. Duke is another one of the many 2025s that will stand out amongst this year’s freshman class after the 2021-22 season is in the books.
