So far this week there have been some absolutely huge point totals put up by some players around the state of Oklahoma. Today we will take a look at, not only those games and how well the players performed in those games in particular, but what it is about those players and what skill sets they could bring to the college level. Take a look! Sania Richardson Sania Richardson Sania Richardson 5'5" | PG Ada | 2025 State OK | 5-5 PG | Ada | 2025 | @no_limit_sania When I went to the PWP Mega Scrimmage just before the start of the season, every time that I walked to one of the three courts after Ada had been there, all anybody wanted to talk to me about was Sania. Who was she? Where was she ranked? Does she have offers? Well, that’s easy. She’s a superstar. She’s ranked No. 6... for now. And yes, she is a freshman with offers from Tulsa, Eastern Michigan and Oklahoma - all before her first game in high school. Speaking of her first game in high school, that happened on Friday night with a 66-53 win against Kingston. Sania came out firing from long range, hitting five three-pointers and ended the game with 25 points. She also gathered in five boards and two steals. Richardson is relentless on both ends of the floor with speed and handles on the offensive end that enables her to blow by almost any defender, assuming she doesn’t want to just use her seemingly perfect jump shot to score from long range. On defense, she is tenacious and sticks like glue with quicks hands that pop the ball out over and over and a relentlessness that just bothers the other team to the point of making numerous mistakes. Sania is a D-I player already and as the years go by, it is mind-boggling to think of the heights that her talent (and hard work) could take her to. Makayla Washington Makayla Washington 5'7" | CG East Central | 2022 State OK | 5-5 CG | East Central (Tulsa) | 2022 | @makaylawashin23 Speaking of 5’5" guards who can put up large amounts of points for her squad, Makayla is just that. In her second game of the season against Nathan Hale, she went off for 49 points. She scored nine of her points in the final three and a half minutes of the game while her team played three on five when their third (of six) players picked up a fifth foul. The Cardinals still won the game 58-54! Some players are just able to will their team to a win and Makayla is just that - a winner. Where Washington really stands out on the floor is her ability to create separation in order to get her shot off. She has great handles and quickness that get her defender off balance. She uses probing dribbles, jab steps and pump fakes to get room and then makes her shot. She can get to the rim or stop halfway there and rise up for a mid-range jumper. She is a legitimate three-level scorer. Washington is the type of scorer that every college team needs and you owe it to yourselves, coaches, to get out to Tulsa and take a look for yourself. All she needs is an opportunity and perhaps a chance to go to a junior college for a year or two to work on her grades. After that, the sky is truly the limit, because Makayla absolutely gets buckets! Chloee Smith Chloee Smith Chloee Smith 5'10" | CG Stigler | 2023 State OK | 5-10 G | Keota | 2023 | @ChloeeSmith10 She is a little bit taller than our other two guards, but she doesn’t let that hold her back (that’s sarcasm, by the way). Chloee is our No. 55-ranked player in the class of 2023, though I think that may need to change. I’ve seen her do some great things in person before, including scoring from all three levels. What I haven’t seen her do before is what she did on Friday night when she scored 46 points! Oh yeah, she also snagged 14 boards to round out the double-double. I think I have seen her do that before, actually. She is a tremendous rebounder who does a great job of putting a body on someone and getting position down low. At Keota, she really can play all five positions with her size and can handle the ball or play the post. It is a thing of beauty, honestly. Her shot is pure with a nice, fluid, high release from long range. She gets to the rim and finishes with either hand. Chloee is a tremendous offensive player and definitely no slouch on defense where she racks up the blocks with her great length. She is a gritty and tough player who is seriously just a ton of fun to watch compete. That being said, coaches, I don’t know what you are waiting on. You need to see her work!
