Queen City Clash Day 1: Hustlers

<p class="p1">There’s a lot more to basketball than just scoring a lot of points, and these athletes showed the importance of being hustlers in those other important categories.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Here are some more standouts from day 1 of the Queen City Clash.</p> <p class="p1"><b>Kylie Jennings | Pinewood Prep | 2022</b></p> <p class="p1">3 points // 8 rebounds // 1 assist // 1 steal // 1 block</p> <p class="p1">Jennings was an aggressive rebounder crashing boards to grab them no matter who tried to stand in her way.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She did well reading where the ball would come off the basket to be the most effective with it.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She got lost by her opponents with her constant movements making sure she was always an asset on the court.</p> <p class="p1"><b>Marissa Nola | Cuthbertson | 2022</b></p> <p class="p1">1 rebound // 5 assists</p> <p class="p1">Nola did well pushing the ball up the court with her passes even having some full court assists to help her team score in transition.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She was a great facilitator swinging the ball and being patient when getting the pass inside to her teammates cutting to the basket.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="260167" first="Eva" last="Butler"] | Providence | 2022</b></p> <p class="p1">Butler was a defensive nightmare sneaking in to grab rebounds for her team.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She was constantly causing deflections frustrating her opponents, and she did a great job slowing down a dominant point guard on the opposing team.</p> <p class="p1">5 rebounds // 4 assists // 1 steal // 1 block</p> <p class="p1"><b>Katharyn Johnson | Savannah Country Day | 2023</b></p> <p class="p1">6 points // 15 rebounds // 2 assist // 1 steal // 1 block</p> <p class="p1">Johnson was constantly grabbing rebounds making sure her opponents didn’t have any second chances.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She was certainly an asset in the high low offense run by Savannah Country Day setting herself up at the top of the free throw line and easily turning to find her teammate.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="201847" first="Ally" last="Hollifield"] | Shelby | 2023</b></p> <p class="p1">6 points // 7 rebounds // 1 assist // 5 steals // 1 block</p> <p class="p1">Hollifield (pictured above) came out all over the court on defense grabbing rebounds and pushing steals up the court to her teammates.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She was scoring on all three levels making sure she was in the points category, too.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She makes cuts with such effectiveness making sure she’s in the right place at the right time, and she doesn’t hesitate to dive on the floor for some loose balls.</p>
