Thursday’s games were the last games before the short Christmas break that many programs have in New Jersey.
However, Thursday was jam-packed with action and some fantastic games, so we wanted to recap a number of them in this article for you, starting with our highlighted game of the day, Hammonton v Seneca.
The Blue Devils emerged victorious with a 45-41 victory over the Golden Eagles, but the story of the game was one [player_tooltip player_id="321548" first="Emma" last="Peretti"], who posted her third-consecutive double-double to begin the 2021-22 season.
The junior forward led all players with 19 points and 15 rebounds in the win, one of two players on Hammonton to record a double-double in the victory.
Giada Palmieri was the other, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils (1-2), the first double-double of her career.
Palmieri has been a welcomed surprise so far for Hammonton and creates a fearsome duo with Peretti, who is already one of the best forwards in the state.
Peretti was coming off a 22-rebound performance in a 69-43 loss to Wildwood Catholic and if she keeps up this pace, she could be setting career highs by the end of the season.
Hammonton used a 14-7 third quarter to take the lead for good against Seneca (1-2). Vickie Crooker led the Golden Eagles in scoring on the day with 17 points, the team’s lone double-digit scorer in the game.
On the other side, the Blue Devils had three player finish in double figures in scoring: Peretti, Palmieri and Ava Divello, who had 14 points in the win.
Taking a look at the rest of Thursday’s action, St. Rose had four players score in double figures as they defeated Point Pleasant Boro, 66-24.

Buena (1-2) edged out Pitman (1-2) for its first win of the season, playing a very tight second half to win 28-26.
Both teams scored a combined 10 points in the second half after 44 combined points in the first half.
Cranford (2-1) made a big defensive stop with less than a second left in regulation to defeat Johnson (1-1), 49-47.
Sarah O’Donnell had a season-high and game-high 19 points in the win for Cranford and Dominika Kosiek had a dominating 16-point, 18-rebound performance for Johnson in the two-point loss.
