With the state tournament having concluded, and with graduations just a couple of months away, I wanted to take the time to look at the uncommitted 2022 prospects who remain available in Indiana. Below I have highlighted five specific prospects from the small forward position, but I’ve also indicated all remaining small forwards from our rankings list of 250 prospects in the Class of 2022. To the best of my knowledge, and from all of the information I’ve been able to gather via college coaches, high school & grassroots coaches, and the internet, these prospects below are still uncommitted at this time. If you see someone listed below who you know is committed (or has already chosen a college destination, even if for another sport or strictly for academics), please DM us on Twitter @PGHIndiana and let us know. Thank you in advance for your help!
(The ranking numbers listed below are out of all 250 total 2022 prospects we have listed, regardless of position.)
53. [player_tooltip player_id="267397" first="Shamarah" last="Allen"], 5-8 SF, South Bend Washington H.S.
- Shamarah began her career at South Bend St. Joseph, and she looked like a budding star as a Freshman. However, the injury bug caught up to her, and she didn’t take the floor (high school or grassroots) for nearly two calendar years. She returned as a Junior on Washington’s roster, and she had earned her way into the starting lineup. She has great length, athleticism in all directions, and she plays with a motor and toughness. She is a very good rebounder and defender at her position, and she can create offense off the dribble. I think she has the potential to be a much more dangerous scorer at the next level.
87. [player_tooltip player_id="61079" first="Jessie" last="Ringen"], 5-9 SF/SG, Rensselaer Central H.S.
- Jessie is a highly under-recruited prospect, because she has really developed into a nice wing player. She has always been a talented athlete who moves well in all directions and has some bounce to her. She has also possessed strength for a while, and as a Freshman she used that strength as more of a power forward. But over the past three years, she has worked on her handle and perimeter shot, and she has developed into a legitimate wing and can be a big guard in some systems. Jessie shot 38.5% from 3-point range this season and 79.3% from the free throw line, in addition to averaging 16.3 points per game.
138. [player_tooltip player_id="128146" first="Allison" last="Graber"], 5-8 SF/SG, Mooresville H.S.
- Ally has been pretty steady throughout her career, but this season a couple of changes were helpful to a Mooresville team who surprised many by making it to the Semi-State round. Over the past year or two, Ally has taken on a lot more ball-handling responsibilities, and at times she takes on almost a point forward role for the Pioneers. She was also more active defensively and hit the boards harder this year compared to last. She has a fairly strong frame, solid length, plus she’s a nice on-the-floor athlete who can attack North/South, and she can knock down the occasional open rhythm jumper. Small colleges would enjoy her versatility.
165. [player_tooltip player_id="243574" first="Jordyn" last="Sarver"], 5-9 SF, Mitchell H.S.
- Jordyn is a talented prospect, and I think she has a lot of next-level value. She has several athletic tools...she’s long, wiry, fluidly athletic, and fast North/South. She has also gotten noticeably stronger over the past couple of years, and she’s able to absorb contact better when she attacks the basket. She has typically been at her best when she’s on attack, but this season she was 38.8% from 3-point range (31-80). Jordyn also plays with a nice motor, and she’s a willing, capable, and versatile defender. Additionally, I think she does a nice job of pursuing rebounds, and she brings immediate value as a rebounder/defender.
248. [player_tooltip player_id="377059" first="Christina" last="Lamb"], 5-9 SF, Cascade H.S.
- Christina transferred in from Lebanon High School between her Sophomore and Junior years, and it gave Cascade a third offensive option that helped them to a number of wins these last two seasons. She has a strong frame and can be very physical at times, she can defend the interior if necessary, and she is a willing and capable rebounder. At the same time, she’s a deceptive athlete in most directions, she has worked on her handle, and she has a soft touch that is great in the mid-post but can also extend beyond the arc. While she is a small forward in high school, I think she can flex between the ’3’ and ’4’ in a small college setting.
