Addison made an impact on both ends of the floor. She scored well around the rim and pulled down a ton of offensive rebounds that led to put back buckets and second chance scoring opportunities for her team. Addison also showed a nice shooting touch from the mid-range and her size and length made it hard for the opposing team to get anything inside.

Soutar can really make a lot happen using her length. She can put the ball in the basket, but she can also contribute in so many other ways. In fact, she is her team’s primary rebounder and shot blocker. She has already had 10+ blocks in a game this season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see even more of those as the season goes on. Soutar can post up and score around the rim, but she also recognizes when help steps over and she does a great job of getting the ball to her shooters on the outside. She runs the floor well and should continue showing her impressive skills as this season goes on.

Right now I like Soutar as a Center, but I can see her working on things that might make her more of a 4 before she is done with high school basketball. She is another player that is putting in the work on her body. I can see her muscles starting to pop up on her lithe frame and I think her cardiovascular conditioning has vastyly improved. She will need it to stay on the floor at her school where they really push the tempo with what seems like a never-ending supply of quick guards ballhawking.
She made one of the best Blocks of the day in a shortend game I was watching. She was playing in an unusual environment for her by having planty of extra size on the court for the 250. I think it made it hard to find her spot on the floor or to have enough space to really shine and someone who is mainly a mid-post player. She may have stood out more without as much size on the team. But with it being more or less pick-up games with no plays to decide who goes where they were all having to feel their way through an awkward situation. They handled it well.

Soutar has great length and she runs the floor really well. She works defensively to make it difficult for the offense to get clean looks at the basket. Soutar does a good job on the boards and she consistently tried to get her hands on the ball as soon as it came off of the rim. While Soutar has good touch around the basket, she also has a good shot and she can handle the ball, so she can really stretch the defense.

Soutar is in the PGH Rankings as a Power Forward but those positions are meant to be projections of where she might play in College. In High School she is a Center in a team lacking in size (like most HS teams) and fits into the list for that reason. rnSoutar has a firm grasp on the fundamentals of her position. She seals off opponent to receive the ball and before extending her long arms for rebounds. She has a good short range shot and some basic developing post moves. The ability to pass and handle the ball in the paint, which is tough when surrounded by a swarm of defenders that are all taught to harass Post Players as secondary defenders. rnShe is right where you would hope a player would be after finishing her Freshman season to set herself up to make it to the next level. Everytime I see her play I can tell she has been working on adding a new tool to her belt to bring to work. Her biggest weaknesses are physical traits that go away as a players body matures past childhood into adulthood. And the body will fix those itself over time allowing her to focus on skills.

Soutar is part of an upcoming contender in the 6th Region. She is one of many talented young players on the North Bullitt roster that has the feeling of inevitability about them when it comes to their state tournament prospects. The question is when will they arrive.
Soutar is the primary post option with a tons of skill around the hoop. She has the ability to pass, post-up. rebound, block shots and runs the floor very well. She has the basics of being a Big in her toolbelt and is working on mastering them and expanding from there. She is long, lean and seems to be building some excellent muscle on her thin frame. She must be hitting the weights like any player serious about going to the next level should.
