For the third consecutive year, I traveled to North Central Indiana and Warsaw Community High School to take in LBI’s April Showers event. This event is regularly loaded with the best programs out of Michigan, in addition to other teams like Sports City U, Example Sports, Always 100 , plus this year the Gym Rats 17U EYBL group, the top Indiana Elite 17U & 16U squads, the Indiana Blaze 16U team, and many more. I am still seeking out specific teams to see this Spring, so while I didn’t see everyone this past weekend, I did see a number of teams play. To follow are a handful of prospects who stood out in what I was able to see.

– RaShunda has taken the reins of the Sports City U squad this year, and she looked strong on Sunday, leading them to a 17U runner-up finish. There wasn’t much different about her game over the weekend…she is still a really nice athlete with length, she has speed and quickness, and she’s an excellent on-ball defender. What I did notice, however, is that she is getting stronger and absorbing contact much better. That will certainly help, as she heads to Purdue University in a year and a half.

– Emma has always been a favorite of ours because of her motor and toughness. She runs through walls, plays with passion, and competes on every single possession. She has gotten so strong, she’ll need to continue working on her lateral quickness defensively, but I thought she shot the ball well from the perimeter when I was able to see her. She is also doing a little more off the dribble as far as creating space and creating for others.

– Sophie is a nice “hidden” talent down in Evansville, but she showed her upside against some tough competition all weekend. She is extremely long, fluid, and skilled. She will need to get stronger and absorb contact better, and her handle could use some tightening, but she knows how to make shots. She finished inside over/around taller, longer players. She made a number of tough mid-range shots, and she knocked down the 3-pointer consistently, including a game-winner.

– Addisen is never going to ‘wow’ you with flash or pizazz, but she is almost always productive, and she just goes about her business, contributing a lot of hustle plays, grabbing key rebounds, and making a tough basket when needed. She has a powerful frame, some length, and she plays with a motor. She is also shooting it with some range, and she hit a big 3-pointer late in one of the tourney games Sunday while I was watching.

– Lindsay is one of the better Freshmen in the state who few people know much about. She has a long, wiry-strong, athletic frame, she plays with good speed and some quickness, and she has nice bounce to her as well. She is one of those chameleons who can blend into most lineups and play a variety of roles/positions. She is a very nice perimeter shooter with range to 25-feet, she can handle it and initiate offense, she rebounds her position well, and she is a versatile defender.
Carly Drone, 2025, 5-11 PF, Rensselaer Central H.S.
– This past weekend was my first time watching Carly at length, and she has a lot of upside/potential. She has an athletic frame, good length, and she runs the floor well North/South. She also looks like she still might grow another inch or two. She has touch to near the perimeter, she is really good in the mid-post, and she will pursue rebounds. She could develop into a much stronger inside-out threat, but for now she is comfortable as a face-up ‘4’.
Lola Lampley, 2026, 6-3 SF, Lawrence Central H.S.
– At first glance, it’s easy to see why Lola is already considered a top prospect nationally in her class. At her size and age, she has advanced perimeter skill and a lot of athleticism. But I think one misnomer is that just because a kid is bigger, it means they are already strong. Lola is just scratching the surface in that regard. Once she finishes growing and truly adds that power to her game, she’ll shoot it more consistently, get wherever she wants whenever she wants, while also being able to dominate the paint.
