Several players saw their stock really rise this past weekend in the eyes of scouts and college coaches after great performances in Oklahoma City. Here are the players who had everyone talking by the end of the weekend. Eden Edwards | 5-5 G | Tulsa Hawks / Victory Christian (OK) | 2026 | @triple_eee08 I’m sure her Twitter name is a reference to her actual name, but the word "triple" is very appropriate because Eden can flat-out shoot the rock. She has a quick release with strong leg drive and her shot is just plain pretty. It also helps that it goes in very, very often. That being said, it’s basketball and there are a lot of shooters out there. What makes someone a stockriser? Well, they really need to stand out. Edwards makes sure she stands out because of her defensive effort. She forces a lot of turnovers, if not in one-on-one situations just by popping the ball loose with quick hands, then she forces bad decisions by her opposing guard with her relentless pressure. Eden is fun to watch (as is her whole Tulsa Hawks team) and I can’t wait to see more of all of them as the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit progresses. [player_tooltip player_id="303495" first="Mikayla" last="Pilley"] | 5-10 G | Oklahoma Swift / Kickapoo (MO) | 2025 | @MikaylaPilley There is a lot of basketball talent at these tournaments and these match-ups in back-to-back weeks give scouts a chance to see the same players against different levels of talent. As a friend of mine says, "It’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against." Well, Mikayla doesn’t seem to care who it’s against. She’s gonna get her points. She’s gonna fill it up from all three levels. She is completely unafraid when attacking the basket and has a plethora of moves to finish inside, not to mention tremendous size and length (especially for a guard). She can shoot it from long range with a quick stroke and a nice high release. Oh, by the way, Pilley can defend all five positions and came up with a lot of defensive stops either via the steal or knocking her opponent’s shots three rows deep. In this scout’s opinion, Mikayla left Oklahoma City this weekend as a definite Division-I prospect. [player_tooltip player_id="335944" first="Hazley" last="Grotjohn"] | 5-6 G | BTR 2024 / Seneca (MO) | 2025 | @Hazley2025 On a team that is absolutely loaded with talent - which every single BTR team is - it can be hard to get noticed. Well, Hazley made sure she was noticed in a lot of different ways this past weekend. One of the first that stood out was her vision and passing. She was whipping one-handed passes all over the court, in tight windows, ahead of cutting teammates, and it was a thing of beauty. Secondly, she was draining some big-time buckets from very long range. She also played stellar defense that saw her jump into the passing lane numerous times after diagnosing the opponent’s play, showing a high basketball IQ and great athleticism to then act on those instincts. She is a big-time prospect and it is clear that Missouri has a lot of great young talent coming up through the ranks. [player_tooltip player_id="315191" first="Diamond" last="Britt"] | 5-4 PG | Oklahoma Aces / Edmond Santa Fe (OK) | 2025 | @DiamondBritt06 No sooner had I told a fellow scout who was standing with me that I loved watching Diamond play did she spin a little pass to someone cutting backdoor, right between two defenders without so much as giving it away with her eyes. She is still very young, but a year of starting as a varsity point guard has really brought her level of play up rapidly. She defends at a high level and better than that she runs an offense at an extremely high level. Britt is calm with the ball in her hands and does not get sped up by the defense. She continues to dictate the pace and has the handles to do things like break double teams as needed. Britt is definitely one to watch as she continues to get big minutes at the varsity level with a very good team and as her Aces squad relies on her to progress through the PGH Circuit throughout the spring. [player_tooltip player_id="241018" first="Kiara" last="Smith"] | 5-8 G | Team Trae Young / Harding Charter (OK) | 2024 | @Kiarasmith2024 Another one of my favorite guards this past weekend, Kiara just never, ever lets up. I found myself standing there and honestly thinking how much it would not be fun to play against her. She just doesn’t give her opponent a second to breathe. She is not only a fairly tall guard, she is a strong guard and when she decides to put a body on you, you’re gonna know. She has quick hands and quick lateral movement that enables her to stay with even the best ballhandlers. Smith can also score it in a variety of ways and showed an ability to score from all three levels. She is extremely athletic and can rise up above pretty much any defender to get her shot off. She is also clutch and hit shots at just the right time when her team needed them against some very, very good opponents. Now THAT is how you raise your stock over the course of a weekend!
