The second Triumph Region event in the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit is in the books after the two-day Knoxville Knockout provided a pair of days of competitive basketball at east Tennessee’s Rocky Top Sports World.

While teams from Tennessee certainly were among those who took part, the tournament also welcomed teams from several other states – including Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

Among those who came through with breakout performances were the 17U teams. Prep Girls Hoops recently unveiled the First Team All-Tournament honorees among the 17U teams. Without further adieu, here are our selections for the 17U Second Team All-Tournament.

Jada Brooks – 2023 – Northwest HS – Road To Glory (RTG) 2023 – Many a coach will love how Brooks plays as she brings confidence and a fearless attitude consistently when she takes the court. Brooks knows how to put the ball through the hoop from behind the 3-point line. Another line on the court that is a benefit to Brooks as the free throw line as she can nail her freebies on the heels of drawing contact. She will come away with steals and those can at times become transition layups the other way. Add her work on the boards as another element to her game and she is poised for a big 2022-23 season to close her career as a Viking.

[player_tooltip player_id="245288" first="Keira" last="Leffew"] – 2023 – Christian Academy of Knoxville – TN Flight Trotters 2023 – The accolades continue to pile up for the Warriors’ star guard. She received an offer from Bryan College near Chattanooga and her team reached the Division 1A state semifinals. She stands tall as a six footer and that is an attribute that comes in helpful as a defender. Leffew has a long wingspan with a knack for blocking shots. She will also put a number of points on the board and can score with 3-pointers and in the midrange game. In one of TN Flight Trotters’ victories, over Mississippi Delta Elite 2023 on Saturday, Leffew dropped 14 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="285352" first="Halli" last="Stuffle"] – 2023 – Lakeway Christian Academy – TN Flight Trotters 2023 – Speaking of TN Flight Trotters 2023 standouts who received in-state offers, the same proved to be true when Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville became a suitor for Stuffle. Her jersey may have a couple of twos, but it was the 3-point shot that Stuffle particularly exceled at when her team earned a commanding victory over Mississippi Delta Elite 2023 on Saturday. Her rebounding, footwork and shot blocking are other elements to what is a multi-dimensional game for this veteran talent. Stuffle scored 14 points in Saturday’s win.

[player_tooltip player_id="360580" first="Angel" last="Jones"] – 2022 – Forest Park HS – SVM Select Rams 2023 – With the conclusion of a noteworthy career at the high school level with the Bruins, one more AAU season is on the brains for Jones. She is able to put more than enough points on the board to lead her team to a victory. She is a prolific passer who also gets herself in position to corral rebounds. Jones will play tough defense on many a ball handler and those opposing dribbles may cough up the rock with the intense pressure she will apply. She finished with 10 points and no fouls in SVM Select Rams 2023’s win over Promise Elite Basketball Club 2023 and averaged 19 points in her final season with Forest Park.

Paige Walters – 2023 – Potomac HS – SVM Select Rams 2023 – Speaking of star ballers hailing from the Washington, D.C. area, Walters too is somewhere in that lofty conversation. A major reason for that is because of how efficient she can be as a long-range shooter. One can watch Walters play and it will not take long to see maintains a thorough knowledge on playing the game. Along with what she does in the open floor, Walters will also get near the rim and make plays in the interior game. Walters tallied 15 points and had only two personal fouls called against her in a game with Promise Elite Basketball Club 2023 on Saturday.
