The<strong> PGH Music City Showdown</strong> took place at the TOA Sports Performance complex in Knoxville TN on Saturday/Sunday. This tournament is part of the <strong>Triumph Region</strong> which encompasses the Southeast as one of four regions in the <strong>PGH Circuit</strong>. The weekend featured a ton of talent in the 17U division. Here is who was selected by our scouts as the 17U Honorable Mention All-Tournament Team:
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422116 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1096-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="192" height="192" />[player_tooltip player_id="206727" first="Trinity" last="Mocadlo"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Wisconsin Blaze Inferno - 2023</span></span>
Trinity is the true definition of a floor general. She communicates on both ends of the floor and takes care of the rock. Her teammates get a lot of open looks with her ability to see the floor and create off the bounce. You can tell her teammates trust her. She also knows when it's time to get a bucket and she can hit it from anywhere. Trinity has some solid D2 offers right now with the summer just beginning.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422118 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1091-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="285367" first="Anna" last="Claire Milam"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- STARS Basketball Club - 2023</span></span>
Anna was very impressive this weekend playing at the 1 and the 2 positions. She hit some big three's and showed good court vision in transition to find her open teammate. Anna Claire can score it at all three levels with a quick first step to get to the rack. You can tell she knows the game and is willing to do whatever it takes to get her team a W.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424248 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1254-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="285347" first="Sophie" last="Singleton"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Tennessee Sol Blue - 2023</span></span>
Sophie was strong in the post all weekend long. She uses her body and strength to create space and finishes at the rim with some impressive moves and footwork. Her mid-range game was nice as she stepped out to hit a couple from 15 feet. Her length and athleticism helped her block some shots and dominate the glass, too.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422121 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1128-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="188" height="188" />Ellen Meyer</strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> - Dayton Metro - 2023</span></span>
Ellie is high motor post player with good size at 6'1. I really liked her energy and hustle to dive on the floor which you don't see as often with the forwards. Her outside shot was good, and she's really good down low with her ability to finish. The best part of her game is her rebounding. She gets good position and then she is relentless in going to get the ball off of the rim.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424266 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1182-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1651682551-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="280" height="184" />[player_tooltip player_id="285370" first="Madi" last="Lewis"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- EAB Tennessee - 2023</span></span>
Madi was one of the most fun guards to watch in Tennessee. She keeps her dribble and body low and can get to the rim around anybody. Her shot was falling from deep and she can hit that floater, too. I liked her handles coupled with her quickness on both ends. Madi's energy was high and she seems like a really coachable kid.
