The Class of 2024 is solid in South Florida. Ten prospects encompass the top 25 beginning with [player_tooltip player_id="217667" first="Kayla" last="Nelms"] (Miami Country Day) at No. 2 overall.
Many of those players are currently or well on their way to receiving college offers. What about other prospects as you move down the list?
Here are some players that deserve a look...
[player_tooltip player_id="398981" first="Jordan" last="Kosoy"] - North Broward Prep/G Nation
[player_tooltip player_id="398981" first="Jordan" last="Kosoy"] was one of the top point guards in the state of Florida this season. The 5-foot-7 recorded 142 total assists (7.1 apg) and 103 steals (5.2 spg) for North Broward Prep. Her assist mark placed her 5th in the state. Kosoy also averaged 13 points per game and scored in double-figures in 15 of 20 contests. She was an all-county selection by both the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald. Kosoy is also an excellent student which should help her college profile.
[player_tooltip player_id="243882" first="Jocelyn" last="Gagnon"] - Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian/GT Queens
[player_tooltip player_id="243882" first="Jocelyn" last="Gagnon"] should be the best perimeter shooter on Calvary Christian next season. The 5-foot-10 forward went 43-of-132 (33 percent) from deep while averaging 10.4 points and five rebounds per game. Both [player_tooltip player_id="220010" first="Elizabeth" last="Schnell"] (94 3pm) and [player_tooltip player_id="91595" first="Samiyah" last="Briggs"] (33 3pm) are set to graduate. Gagnon is also a solid free-throw shooter after connecting on 86 percent of her attempts. I think she has plenty of opportunity with her length and shooting ability to heighten her college stock.
[player_tooltip player_id="426236" first="Ashley" last="Hendricks"] - Berean Christian
[player_tooltip player_id="426236" first="Ashley" last="Hendricks"] was one of the best scoring and rebounding posts in Palm Beach County. The 6-foot-1 power forward averaged 17.5 points and 13.9 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor. Moreover, she recorded 19 double-doubles in 22 games. The other three contests Hendricks fell short by three total boards. She is a powerful player and strong rim protector around the paint. Hendricks blocked 29 shots and rejected two or more in nine games. It’s hard to argue that production to this point.
[player_tooltip player_id="349421" first="Kalia" last="Harrington"] - Mater Lakes Academy
[player_tooltip player_id="349421" first="Kalia" last="Harrington"] is a playmaker on the basketball court. The 5-foot-8 shooting guard averaged 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and two steals per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor. In addition, Harrington went 45-of-110 (41 percent) from deep. Her shooting numbers and defensive ability (25 blocks) point to an effective two guard.
[player_tooltip player_id="426380" first="Unique" last="Horton"] - Somerset Academy Silver Palms
[player_tooltip player_id="426380" first="Unique" last="Horton"] has the size and frame to help a college program. The 6-foot power forward averaged ten boards per game and blocked 42 shots for the Stallions. Horton was an efficient shooter when scoring in double-figures and still has two seasons to become more consistent. She should have a big summer and subsequent junior season.
