In reality, however, the opportunity is there for players of all levels and descriptions to make a quality impression on suitable programs that could potentially fit their level of skills and abilities. We certainly saw that in Chanhassen last week at the Mill City Invitational. Hosted by the Minnesota Fury, the event offered up plenty of talent courtesy of multiple programs from across the spectrum. Here are 5 players in the Class of 2025 who stood out.
Jordan Ode Jordan Ode 5'11" | CG Maple Grove | 2025 State MN – guard, Minnesota Fury 2025 UAA (Maple Grove)
For elite prospects the July viewing period represents a two-pronged opportunity. First, they can reinforce impressions already made throughout the season, confirming earlier opinions on a player’s potential. And second, it is a chance to make a good first impression on coaches from across the country who are being exposed to the player’s abilities for the first time. Jordan checked both boxes at Mill City. For coaches who had already offered the Maple Grove guard a scholarship (there are plenty), Ode’s stellar performance simply reinforced their decision. She has high-major offers for a reason! For others who were seeing the wiry, athletic 5’11 freshman for the first time, the consensus was clear: Jordan is for real. Ode, who is ranked #3 in the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2025, was impressive in all aspects of the game. As usual. She averaged 15 points per game as her squad went undefeated.
Rae Ehrman Rae Ehrman 5'9" | SF Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN – guard, Minnesota Fury 2025 UAA (Eden Prairie)
While Ode has established herself as a big dog among Minnesota’s 2025s, her teammate Ehrman is building a positive impression for college coaches one tournament, one game, one possession at a time. I’m not sure we have seen Rae (given name Remington) be any more impressive than she was on opening day at Mill City. She scored 17 points in a top-drawer performance against a strong Comets Elite 2024 squad and went on to average nearly 12 points per game. The gritty 5’9 guard plays with a ton of energy and plenty of sandpaper. Her motor runs at maximum RPM in nearly every game. And she offers up a mixed skill set that makes her a valuable asset at both ends of the floor. It’s impossible to fit Ehrman’s game neatly into a box. The role she plays is going to vary from week to week and will depend greatly on what program she ends up in at the next level. What is discernable at this point is the fact that the #24-rated prospect in the Class is an impact performer.
Lindsey Harvey Lindsey Harvey 5'11" | SF Wayzata | 2025 State MN – forward, Crossfire Tusler (Wayzata)
Lindsey is a sleeper. The Crossfire Tusler team has enjoyed a great deal of success, but most of the attention last season was directed at the triplets from Maple Grove – Addie Hanna Addie Hanna 5'6" | PG Maple Grove | 2025 State MN , Bella Hanna Bella Hanna 5'10" | SF Maple Grove | 2025 State MN and Lexi Hanna Lexi Hanna 5'9" | SG Maple Grove | 2025 State MN . This year Anna Greene Anna Greene 6'0" | SF Mahtomedi | 2025 State MN of Mahtomedi has grabbed hold of the spotlight from time to time. It was obvious at Mill City, though, that Harvey arguably has as much to do with the squad’s success as anyone. Now 5’11, the small forward/shooting guard has the length and mobility to impact the game in a variety of ways. She gets up and down the floor with ease, and is a factor at both ends. In some games it is her instinctive rebounding and shot blocking ability that stands out. In others she shows off a nice offensive skill set, with quality ball-handling and the ability to make shots. The term ‘Swiss Army Knife’ might be a bit of a cliché at this point, but that’s truly what Harvey is. Currently ranked #78 in the Class, we think Lindsey has the chops to rise way higher than that before it’s all said and done.
Isabel Steer Isabel Steer 5'9" | SG Hawley | 2025 State MN – guard, North Tartan North (Hawley)
Players who wear the North Tartan jersey tend to get noticed early and often. If you are good enough to wear the colors of one of Minnesota’s most successful AAU programs, so the logic goes, you are good enough for a nice, long look. While that applies to NT’s top tier teams, it’s not really true of the outstate satellite squads such as North Tartan North where it can take a little more time. Eventually, however, all quality prospects rise to the top and Isabel is most definitely a quality prospect. The 5’9 guard/small forward from Hawley is long and athletic with plenty of bounce. She started last year as a freshman on a 20-win team featuring an array of college-bound players. That’s not surprising when you consider her long list of natural assets – great court vision, excellent passing skills and the ability to finish down low. Steer is also a very good shooter who gets it off quickly and has a ton of range. She’s mobile, with quick feet and long strides and she can play as many minutes as you need without getting gassed. Now that she’s on the radar we’ll be paying plenty of attention to Steer.
Elise Groppoli Elise Groppoli 5'4" | CG Hill-Murray | 2025 State MN – guard, Minnesota Fury 2025 Premier (Hill-Murray)
How can you not like what Groppoli brings to the table? Although she’s only 5’3, Elise has all of the other assets we look for in a next-level prospect. She is super-fast, with really quick feet and terrific mobility. She has the ability traverse the length of the floor at maximum MPH, drive past and through bigger opponents, and a knack for finishing through contact and drawing fouls. ’Explosive’ is a good word for Elise. Throw ‘gritty,’ ‘dynamic’ and ‘feisty’ into your stash of appropriate adjectives. The Hill-Murray guard did a little bit of everything for Fury 2025 Premier last week, which went 4-1 at Mill City. It’s a team that boasts such prospects as #64 Kate Kapsner Kate Kapsner 5'11" | SF Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State MN of Benilde-St. Margaret’s, #66 Magi Bjornson Magi Bjornson 6'1" | PF Farmington | 2025 State MN of Farmington, #67 Haven Fisher Haven Fisher 5'11" | SG Prior Lake | 2025 State MN of Prior Lake and #70 Laynie Meister Laynie Meister 6'0" | SF Rochester John Marshall | 2025 State MN of Rochester John Marshal. While those kids offer substantially more size and length than Elise does, none plays with any more gumption than the #74-ranked Groppoli.
