Fall Leagues are fun to watch because anyone can play each other no matter what level, public or private, etc. Here are some of the seniors playing in their last fall league looking to leave a mark against their competitors.
Jalasia Hull
Jalasia Hull
Jalasia Hull recently moved to North Carolina, and we are definitely excited to have her. She showed off a nice finish at the rim. She could do this off of set offensive plays or by grabbing the steal herself to push up the court. She brought an aggressiveness to the defensive side of the ball elevating all of her teammates to get after each possession.
Sydney Gueterman Sydney Gueterman 5’11” | SF 1 Of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC was showing off her ability to guard anyone using her length and long strides to stay in front of her opponent. She doesn’t shy away from getting inside to grab the rebound. She has expanded the court being able to catch a pass outside the paint, drive hard to the basket, and score in addition to posting up on the block for the entry pass and bucket.
Jamyah Blakeney Jamyah Blakeney 5’7″ | CG Forest Hills | 2023 State NC showed the importance of stepping into the pass when it was coming her way. She is explosive on both ends of the court, and she uses this speed and change of direction to get open to score some points. She was quick on defense, too, grabbing steals and pushing up the court.
Tatum Bowen Tatum Bowen 5’9″ | SF 1 Of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC continued to show her strong shooting from deep that will certainly be effective at the college level. She recently announced her commitment to Lenoir Rhyne, and selfishly we are happy we get to see her continue to play in North Carolina. Her moves along the baseline make it difficult to defend as she can finesse her way to the hoop for two. She is smart on defense knowing how to read her opponent, trap on defense, and jump into passing lanes.
Highlights
Kirsten Lewis-Williams Kirsten Lewis-Williams 5’10” | CG Lake Norman | 2023 State NC knows how to simply take over the game driving hard to the basket using her ball fakes to get around her defenders. She did everything for her team grabbing rebounds, making smart cuts, and running the point guard position. She jumps high over her opponent to stop a pass on defense or to shoot over them on offense. She took the ball coast to coast scoring quickly in transition.
