She was also one of the top free throw shooters in the state, converting an impressive 87.4% from the line. She is a versatile wing/guard who impacts the game in a variety of ways. She can score at all three levels, rebound, defend, and make plays for others. Kayley is playing up with Lady Phenom United 17U 3SSB.

has been outstanding in her first season at Campbellsville High School. She leads the team in scoring (19.7) and is second in rebounds per game (5.7). Kayley already has several stat-stuffing performances under her belt. She had 24 pts, 5 rebs, 5 stls, and 1 blk in the third game of the season against Hart County, then dropped 30 in a win over Adair County along with 3 rebs, 4 asts, and 7 stls. I can’t forgot to mention her 19 points, 9 rebs, 4 asts, 4 stls, and 1 blk against Green County. Kayley has been a huge addition for the Lady Eagles, and her ability to make an impact in so many different ways will be key for her teams success as the season continues.

Kayley averaged a team-leading 9.8 points and snagged 3.9 rebounds a game for Taylor County last season. Kayley is extremely versatile on both ends and impacts the game in a multitude of ways. She has a ton of upside and is on a D1 trajectory. I see her being higher on the list when the next update rolls around.

Benningfield was actually the only freshman named to the 15 player All-Region Team in the 5th Region. She may be just short of averaging double figures, but the reason for that is due to the well-balanced offense Taylor County has with 5 different players averaging 7-10 PPG. Benningfield is a very versatile player who can essentially play any position on the court. She contributes in a variety of ways and can score at all 3 levels. She is a good ball handler and makes good moves to get a step on her defender. She also shot over 35% from 3 this season, forcing the defense to stretch well beyond the perimeter. There’s a lot still to come from Benningfield, but you better get used to hearing her name.

Benningfield is having a solid freshman season for Taylor County. She is making a major impact on offense with her ability to score from the inside out. Benningfield leads the team in scoring with 9.6 PPG, while shooting 32.4% from three and 75% from the free throw line. I expect her number to continue to increase throughout the season.

Benningfield was doing a little bit of everything, but I was so impressed by her work on the offensive boards. She was constantly working to grab rebounds off the rim and she did a great job of finishing tough baskets in the paint and at the rim. She was also handling the ball well and making good moves to get past the defense. I didn’t get to watch a ton of this game, but Benningfield was impossible to not take notice of even in that short period of time.

I have seen Benningfield play several times. Her Club team plays on the PGH Circuit and her HS team is just 30 to 40 minutes south of me and both are good programs. So they tend to play playing late into the season when I am scrambling to find more content and adjusting to the teams that have been eliminated. Funny thing is I didn’t even recognize her until she smiled for this photo. That I recognized. I guess she grew? Changed her hair? idk Maybe she plays with a mean face on. Maybe I was just too occupied seeing 10 players at a time on the court that were mainly new to me going at it for 40-miutes at a time.
She can play. No doubt. She has good speed and length and a great motor, something I find is common for players on both her high school and club team. She plays good defense, which stood out some in the confusion of what is basically a pick up game. You have players who have all learned different defensive fundamentals and the coaches at the event do not have time to organize something cohesive to have all players on the same page. So one player it forcing someone to the sideline and another is forcing them baseline and another is trying to have containment. All of those work as strategies but they don’t work without a unified plan. So seeing some good defense in that chaos can stand out and it did for Benningfield.
She has good ball handling skills, passing skills, is an excellent shooter and has good height and length. But she is still living in her Girl Body, which is understandable considering her age and fixes itself with time. When she fills out physically a little more she will be even more effective on the court. Being able to push others around is better than being the one getting knocked around a little bit. All things considered, I believe that if she will keep working on her skills, grow and develop some more muscle over the next 4 years there is no reason she won’t play in College.

Kayley is a versatile player who showed she can both score inside and out as well as guard the post and on the perimeter. She’s a good rebounder who goes after out of area rebounds. She looks comfortable pushing the ball in transition and could have some of the highest long term upside in the 27 class.
