Taylor County returns a lot of their roster and Avery is going to be one of the better secondary scoring options in the 5th region this season. A big time shooter who made 42% of her threes last summer, Raikes is a big difference maker for the Cards and their hopes of making it back to Rupp Arena next March. As her game continues to expand, look for Avery and Kennedy Deener Kennedy Deener 5'7" | PG/SG Taylor County | 2029 State KY to make the best 1-2 punch in the region.

A lengthy guard who did most of her damage on the defensive end of the floor in the matchup that I watched. From an offensive stabpopint she showed she can stretch the floor as well

Avery Raikes Avery Raikes 5'7" | SF Taylor County | 2027 State KY showed up and showed out against Knott Central! She started strong with a rebound and put-back for Taylor County’s first points of the game, quickly getting her team on the board. Avery then hit a corner triple to keep the momentum going, and setting the tone early on offense, scoring the first 5 points for the Lady Cardinals. Avery continued to stay hot from deep, hitting another triple in the second quarter and got in the mix for a 50/50 ball in the third quarter. Raikes is at her best when she attacks downhill; she can absorb contact and still finish at the rim. She can hit shots from long distance and knows how to make an impact on the defensive end. Raikes will be a key player for the Lady Cardinals this season.
