Prep Girls Hoops SC Top 250: 2024 Guards (Part 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Seven Prep Girls Hoops Top 250 events occurred took place this past weekend. One of those was in South Carolina with the event returning to the John T. Rhodes Sports Center in Myrtle Beach.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The venue was overflowing with some of the premier talent in the Palmetto State – and players from all points of said state arrived to take part. Over 100 showed up and were sorted into 12 teams.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Those that were in attendance saw an impressive showing from the 2024 class – particularly from the many junior guards. Ford played a major role in Lake View's success last season and with two star seniors having graduated, it creates a great opportunity for her to be the focal point of the team going forward. Ford has no problems playing the game on contact and finding her way to the free throw line. She can be particularly effective with her midrange jump shot and defensively she can gather steals and create extra possessions for her team. Attacking the rim is one of the hallmarks of her game as she will find lanes that will enable her to finish at the rim. Geddis throws defenses for a loop as they are unsure if she will attack or shoot from the open floor. She can operate at either one of the two backcourt positions. She does many of the little things that may not show up on the stat sheet such as hustling for loose balls in addition to create extra possessions for her team. A 5-foot-4 slasher out of the backcourt, Taylor is skilled as a rim attacker while also being effective from behind the 3-point line. He places plenty of emphasis on ball handling and the ability to organize a halfcourt offense. Taylor is also gifted as a ball distributor. Sanders works for everything she obtains on the court. She is willing to do many of the little things that can have a big impact towards victory – including diving for loose balls. Sanders fuses together speed and agility with a skill for taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers. Brown has participated in track and field and cross country as well as basketball throughout her athletic career. Defensively, she gives opponents issues with the amount of steals she can rack up. Brown is skilled as a ball handler and gives a team a scoring dimension from out in the perimeter.
