Coming into the Spring, I was under the impression that Brooklyn was more of a combo guard, a very good perimeter shooter, but more of a scorer than anything. What she has done is prove that she is a patient and posed point guard prospect who sees pressure/traps early and typically finds the right open teammate, plus she has quickness and burst, and she does a really nice job of changing speeds. She can still shoot it, and she is extremely feisty defensively.

Whether fair or not, Brooklyn has some qualities similar to another McConnell…Indiana Pacer T.J. She is a bit undersized, scrappy, feisty, and whatever other adjective you can come up with in that realm, and she is always around the ball making plays. She has touch outside but can also get into the paint, and she is great at slamming on the brakes, changing speeds, and changing directions with the ball in her hands.

Brooklyn is a great water-bug, quick, fast, bouncy, and always active. But what I have been more impressed with is her ability to stop & start, change speeds while changing directions, and picking the right moments to be explosive, while also choosing when to be patient well. She can get into gaps and find open teammates, but she also hit four 3-pointers Friday night, keeping the defense honest.

In a land of mighty mites, like Indiana, Brooklyn is one of the better smaller guards under 5-7 in this 2025 class. She is tough-nosed, feisty, and is a solid all-around ballplayer. She has speed and quickness, the ability to change directions off the bounce, and she just makes plays…for herself and teammates. She has the ability to make shots consistently outside, and she can put pressure on a defense by getting into the paint. I’m still working to figure out if I like her more as a ‘1’ or a ‘2’ long-term, because she can be effective in either role, and I think it comes down to who else is on a given roster with her.

Brooklyn is a nice little guard who plays with a lot of energy. The problem is, I can’t tell if she’s better as a point guard or an undersized shooter/scorer. She has good quickness and can get into gaps easily, plus she has a solid mid-range game. At the same time, she has a nice spot-up game around the perimeter, and you must respect her from outside. If she can consistently create for teammates this Spring and keep turnovers down, she could see a lot of nice small college interest come her way. I also think she is an effective and feisty on-ball defender who can create turnovers.
