put together another impressive performance to begin her junior season. Returning as one of Indiana’s premier talents, Schellhammer was outstanding on both ends of the floor and played a major role in Greenfield-Central’s strong start to summer league action, including an impressive victory over Lawrence North.
What continues to separate Schellhammer is her ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Offensively, she consistently got to her spots, whether attacking the basket, creating space for a mid-range jumper, or knocking down shots from the perimeter. Her jump shot remains one of the most reliable weapons in the state, seemingly finding the bottom of the net every time it leaves her hands. She displayed tremendous feel for the game, making quick reads, creating opportunities for teammates, and taking over when her team needed a basket. Her pace, decision-making, and overall skill set were on full display throughout the evening.
Schellhammer finished the night with 16 points against Lawrence North and followed that up with 20 points against New Palestine, proving once again why she is one of the most feared and respected players in Indiana girls basketball. If Wednesday was any indication, she is poised for another dominant season and will continue to be a player college coaches and fans closely follow throughout the summer.

This Riley was also a midseason transfer in 2025-2026, but she only managed two games with her new team, both in the Sectional, so a full Summer and preseason with the Cougars should really help her and her teammates get acclimated. Riley has played well this Spring, and she will be the most talented prospect in the G-C lineup since Madison Wise (2017). She is a talented shooter/scorer, but she is also a nice facilitator who will help others get easier shots as well. I will also be curious to see her chemistry with her younger sister, Britt Schellhammer, a talented 2030 prospect.

Riley has always been a top basketball prospect, otherwise she wouldn’t be recruited so high and have started two years of Varsity ball at the 4A level. But Saturday she looked a bit quicker, she was as active as I’ve ever seen her, plus her change-of-direction and start-stop movements looked improved. All in all, she was affecting the game more often and in different ways, especially from “help” side defensively, and as an attacker offensively. She is also a capable deep shooter, a good ball-handler, and a high IQ ballplayer. Riley recently gave a verbal commitment to Villanova University.

has quickly become one of the most dangerous offensive guards in Indiana basketball. Known as a true three-level scorer, Schellhammer has the ability to impact games from anywhere on the floor, making her one of the toughest matchups in the state regardless of class.
Recently committing to Villanova, Schellhammer’s recruitment alone speaks to the level of talent she possesses. She can knock down perimeter shots consistently, create space in the mid-range, and attack the basket with confidence and control. Her offensive instincts and scoring versatility allow her to take over games while still making strong decisions with the basketball.
Beyond scoring, Schellhammer’s leadership and poise continue to elevate Greenfield-Central’s program. She plays with confidence, competes defensively, and understands how to impact winning basketball. As her game continues to evolve, she has all the tools to remain one of the premier guards in Indiana and a serious future Miss Basketball candidate.

becomes the first Top 25 commit in Indiana’s 2028 class—a statement move that immediately grabs attention.
This is a major addition for Villanova, as they bring in a true culture-changer. Schellhammer is an elite guard who can score at all three levels, putting constant pressure on defenses and impacting the game in multiple ways. Year after year, she has elevated her game, and I’ve seen that growth firsthand—from her AAU days to now making her mark at the high school level.
But this commitment is bigger than just Villanova. The Wildcats didn’t just get more exciting—the entire Big East did. With her ability on both ends of the floor, Riley brings the kind of scoring and defensive presence that will make an immediate impact in one of the nation’s most competitive conferences.

Riley’s court time over the Winter was limited due to transfer rules, but she maintains the top spot on the point guard list because she is a highly skilled, intelligent guard who has a natural feel for the game. She has always been known as a good deep shooter, and when she’s set and in rhythm, she still is. But I think her ability to manage an offense and get the ball where it needs to go often goes overlooked. She has a nice handle, she’s an accurate passer, and she can anticipate teammates coming open. She also has nice length, and she utilizes it well defensively.

is the type of player who can elevate a program in a short amount of time, and her ceiling is incredibly high. If you haven’t had the chance to see her play in person yet, it’s something you should make a priority before she graduates.
On the court, she presents a tough matchup. Schellhammer can knock down shots from long range with consistency, but she’s just as effective attacking the basket and pulling up for mid-range jumpers. That versatility makes her difficult to contain and allows her to impact the game at all three levels.
She currently holds offers from programs such as Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Villanova, Utah State, Army, and more—an indication of the attention she’s drawing nationally. Regardless of class, she’s firmly in the conversation as one of the top guards in the state of Indiana regardless of class!
Beyond her individual talent, Schellhammer is bringing a new level of excitement to both the state and the Greenfield community, a program that hasn’t seen a nationally recognized player of her caliber in quite some time.

to the lineup provided Greenfield-Central with a major boost and added excitement to the Sectional 9 tournament. I had the opportunity to watch her first game back, where she immediately made her presence felt, finishing with 18 points and 6 steals. She didn’t miss a beat, showcasing her ability to knock down shots from the perimeter while also attacking the rim with confidence.
Riley is the type of player opposing defenses must locate at all times, as she is capable of erupting for 30 or more points on any given night. She followed up that performance by scoring 16 points the next evening, further proving her consistency and impact.
The Greenfield-Central community was energized by her return, welcoming a player who will be the best player in school history. Along with her younger sister, Britt Schellhammer next year, Riley is positioned to help elevate the girls basketball program at Greenfield-Central for years to come.

Riley has been one of the most impressive young players I’ve watched through the first two weeks of the season. After seeing her in three games, it’s clear she has taken a major step forward from her freshman year and has fully adapted to the pace and style of play that Lawrence Central thrives on. Anytime she touches the basketball, positive things happen—whether she’s creating scoring opportunities for teammates or taking over offensively herself. She’s opening the season averaging 17.7 points per game, and she has been the leading scorer for the top-ranked Lady Bears in three of their first four games and has quickly established herself as one of the top young talents to watch in the state of Indiana. Her performance against Carmel showcased her growth and confidence. Riley led all scorers with 21 points, went 2–6 from beyond the arc, and delivered a perfect 7–7 from the free-throw line. She played with poise, efficiency, and the ability to control the game in big moments. Riley has all the makings of Lawrence Central’s next star, and she’s only getting better.

Riley has taken her game to another level this year, and she showcased that throughout the AAU season. A true three-level scorer, Riley makes smart reads on both ends of the floor and has the ability to consistently knock down shots from anywhere. Defensively, she stands out at the guard position with her toughness and rebounding ability. This summer, she established herself as one of the premier guards in her class, leading the 15U EYBL in scoring at 20.1 points per game, which included multiple 30+ point outings while shooting 40% from three. Her standout play has earned her six Division I offers from Mississippi State, Utah State, Army West Point, Illinois State, Detroit Mercy, and Oakland University. Riley is building a strong case to be considered for Indiana Miss Basketball within the next three years.
