Ortiz plays way up in the northwestern corner of the Palmetto State near the Georgia border. Gianna is a multi-sport athlete for the Razors also excelling on the volleyball court in the fall. She really moves well from side to side around the block inside the paint. Gianna has soft hands to catch anything thrown in her direction. She can handle the rock up the floor at times if needed when called upon.
Gianna averaged 9.4 ppg and 9.9 rebounds last season. Look for those numbers to improve this season. Walhalla HS finished the season at (19-9) a season ago.

Ortiz really made a jump this time around from #91 to #35 this time around. Gianna plays in the Northwestern corner of the Palmetto State and a bit of the grid for sure. She played extremely well this time around at the South Carolina Live Team Camp back in June for the Razors.
Gianna has good hands to finish buckets around the bucket. She can and will at times bring the rock up the floor when needed. She moves well around the block and understands on how to seal and take the ball straight up.

Ortiz is poised for even more success as she advances into the veteran portion of her career. The standout from 3A Walhalla was a major reason why the Razorbacks made a deep run in the 2022-23 SCHSL playoffs. That momentum has translated seamlessly to the AAU campaign. She was an important piece to a victory on Saturday morning against Kentucky Blue Devils 2026 when she put 11 points on the board. Ortiz places plenty of emphasis on ball handling and limiting turnovers and she also is a gifted rebounder and midrange jump shooter. Volleyball is her second sport outside of basketball.

At the outset of the 2023 AAU campaign, Ortiz carried a wave of momentum from the high school season given her 3A Walhalla bunch made a deep run in the playoffs.
