After talking about some guards to watch over the next 12 months, let's talk about some forwards to watch over the next 12 months.

[player_tooltip player_id='338952' first='Karinna' last='Trotter']

Karinna's AAU Highlights

The DSHA forward showed flashes of being a dual-threat four who can play inside and out. She's a flexible offensive weapon who can play inside and out. Trotter can also attack off the dribble, which is the aspect of her game that every team will have a hard time dealing with in a game. She can play with her back-to-the-basket and knock down perimeter jumpers. I wouldn't be surprised to see college interest in her rise over the next AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='374232' first='Jenna' last='Welsch']

Jenna's Freshman Season Highlights

There may not be a wing who's more aggressive in getting to the basket than Welsch. Although she didn't shoot the ball well last year, I'll chalk that up to injuries because she still shot well from the free-throw line. I like how well she plays up against girls taller than her. Welsch uses her strength and leverage to defend posts and her lateral quickness to defend quicker guards. She missed her AAU season last summer, but she's a talented kid who brings a lot to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='448245' first='Raegan' last='Krueger']

The Kimberly forward is another versatile 6-footer who can beat defenses inside and out. I like how she doesn't rely on her jumper to get by in basketball. She fights on the interior for a better position, rebounds, and easy baskets. Kids who like to battle tend to have good things happen to them. I suspect that she'll play a significant role for Kimberly this year and will probably find success. Playing in the Fox Valley Association is no joke, and I'd be surprised if she didn't turn heads in the high school season locally and more regionally over the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='448246' first='Addison' last='Baumgart']

Yet another FVA kid who can do a bit of everything, the Kaukauna wing/forward earned some minutes for the Galloping Ghosts last season. The Galloping Ghosts showed that they were a team who could hang with the best teams this state had to offer. Now with most of their team back, they are one of the teams who can say they belong in the discussion for D1 state title contenders. Baumgart's ability to rebound, pass, shoot, and do some of the little things posts do will be critical for their run this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='448249' first='Isabelle' last='Freisleben']

I love Friesleben's ability to knock down shots and play the four in multiple forms. She's essentially a tool that her team can use to poke and prod at defenses. With future Green Bay Phoenix [player_tooltip player_id='156085' first='Meghan' last='Schultz'], New Berlin West will likely use Freisleben on the perimeter, which will benefit Schultz this season. The sophomore will quickly earn the respect of Woodland-West defenses and give Schultz more room to operate. Freisleben's versatility could be the x-factor in that conference.

[player_tooltip player_id='448253' first='Olivia' last='Witkowski']

Over the summer, I didn't see many better defenders in the 2025 class in the state. Witkowski is a mobile six-foot kid who defends the paint at a high level. She may not get many eyes on her at Weyawega-Fremont, but I love her game because she makes the other team one-dimensional. She has room to grow offensively, but defensively she can change games at a high level in any high-school conference in Wisconsin.
