Missouri Phenom Hoopfest 2027-28 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops Missouri ventured to Columbia on Sunday to watch the action at the Missouri Phenom Hoopfest. The event featured all of the teams in the organization from 15U to 17U. There were some talented young players on hand at the event. Here is a look at some of the top players from the Class of 2027 and 2028.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jamiah Herring-Green (Hazelwood Northwest Middle): A talented 2028 guard with a high-level skill set and the length to impact the game at both ends of the floor. She can get to the basket going either left or right to finish inside and she also has 3-point shooting range. She is very fluid in her movements on the court. She was also disruptive on defense with her length and anticipation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1039457' first='Trinity' last='Jackson'] (Lutheran North Middle): A 5'5" 2028 point guard who is very quick and is very exciting to watch on the offensive end. She has creative handles, which enables her to create her own shot off the dribble. Her pull up game was on point in the lane and she can knock down the 3-pointer. Her on-ball defense was also very good as she used her quickness.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='851184' first='Kierra' last='Ross'] (Antioch Middle): A talented 2027 guard who handled the ball well against pressure and was able to create her own shot off the dribble. She moved at a nice pace, but she had a little burst to get by defenders. She also stepped up and knocked down some 3-pointers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zay Niyah Jackson (Hazelwood Northwest Middle): A 2028 combo guard whose on-ball defense was so good that she turned an opposing ball handler three or four times in the backcourt and got a 10-seconds call. She was effective at getting downhill on the drive and she was getting buckets in traffic. She was also hitting the 3-pointer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1039469' first='Ava' last='Wilson'] (Hazelwood West Middle): A 6'0" 2028 forward who is a bright, young post talent. She has good fundamentals around the basket as she kept the ball high after grabbing the offensive rebound to score. She has a good defensive presence inside with her height and length to block and contest shots. She also stepped out and hit a 3-pointer off the catch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lucy Swearingen (Nevada Middle): A 2027 lefty shooting guard with solid fundamentals who did not force things, but was very effective on offense when she asserted herself. She scored on a nice runner in the lane where she showed good body control and a deft shooting touch. She also handled the ball and passed it very well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lexi Ament (Crocker Middle): A 5'7" 2027 shooting guard who has smooth handles and plays a very under control game. She has a nice pull up jumper, which she also shoots in transition. She plays very well off the ball and she moves well to get herself open and keep the offense flowing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
