About Aubrey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Post play, love to rebound and play defense. The game has changed to 3 point shooting, but you still need someone on the inside to protect the rim on defense, rebound, and make the physical plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have to get things done on my task list right away. Homework is done as soon possible, tests scores and grades need to be at or close to 100%. I like to use strategy and I love to win. Losing is not an option, probably a little to competitive at times. But I like to learn, I am coachable, and understand things are earned.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society, and part of "Peanut Butter and Jelly Club" where kids from multiple schools get together once a month to share ideas and things with one another.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Played at the varsity level in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball, starting on all teams, since my Freshman year. Starting so young has allowed me to use my athleticism to form relationships with coaches and teammates. Playing with upper classman has also allowed me to observe those before me. I can now pick and chose what leadership skills I like, and which ones are effective in this culture.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, as a Freshman and Sophomore, or underclassman. I saw several obstacles taking starting positions away from upper classman including seniors. But I have formed friendships with those girls now, and let my play, hustle, and athleticism help prove I was worthy of that starting position. I proved myself and earned those positions.

What type of college are you looking for?

The next step in schooling is very important to me. I am very interested in the medical field of some sort. Nursing, nurse practitioner, doctor, something in pediatrics, I am not sure. I am even considering the lawyer route, as I have some interest in that field as well. I will graduate High School with my Associates Degree as well, after taking all of my Junior College courses through our HS.
