High School Duos to Watch

Continuing with our coverage of some duos to watch in North Carolina, check out these combinations during this upcoming high school season.

Our first duo comes to us from Albemarle. Amari Baldwin and Nyleiah White are two explosive guards who know how to check into a game and make an immediate impact. Baldwin has been one of the main ball handlers for the Bulldogs pushing the ball quickly up the court and using her quick change of direction to create separation from her opponents. White will certainly bring a strong defensive side of the ball being able to jump out of nowhere into passing lanes for the steals and take it the other direction. It's going to be fun to see them both being able to play off of each other finding ways to get to the hoop.

Another duo at Albemarle is in the front court with Bianca Robinson & Jasmine Brown. These girls know how to dominate on the block, and they find each other easily underneath the basket when the defense shifts to open up the court. Both are dominant rebounders, and they find ways to block shots on the defensive side of the ball.

Salisbury is coming off of their state championship last season, and there's no doubt their leader [player_tooltip player_id='116913' first='Kyla' last='Bryant'] is going to look to make another run. She is a dominant ball handler moving easily around the court using crossovers and step backs to create separation from her defenders. She finds her open teammates with ease underneath the basket knowing how to let a play develop. One of those teammates she connects with a lot is [player_tooltip player_id='494747' first='Makayla' last='Noble'] who has really been rising as a leader on the court this past year. She does it all for her team from grabbing rebounds to pushing the tempo to knocking down shots from deep.

West Rowan is coming into this season with a nice duo of versatile players who can do everything their team needs with Lauren Arnold and [player_tooltip player_id='385175' first='Jamecia' last='Huntley']. Arnold has been with the Falcons dominating the block with boards and post moves to score. She can even show off her moves at full speed driving to the basket including some up and unders and spin moves. Huntley comes in with state championship experience knowing how to go full speed on the court at all times and knocking down shots from anywhere to help her team dominate.

Walter Williams has a guard and forward combination that are worth checking out. Briahna Scott uses her long limbs to slide in front of her opponents while they are trying to get around her, and she deflects passes with ease. She's efficient moving with the ball at the free throw line and can easily find her teammates underneath the basket. She works from block to block moving to get open for a nice entry pass from her teammate JaiNasia Bailey. Bailey is a smart basketball player showing the most effective way of pushing the tempo is with quick passes to shift the defense.
