Let’s take a quick look at what’s been happening in New Jersey and see who’s been up to what over the past week or so.
We start out with the No. 1 prospect in our 2023 rankings, Hannah Hidalgo Hannah Hidalgo 5'7" | PG Paul VI | 2023 State NJ , taking what looks to be an official visit to Duke, one of the schools in her final shortlist.
Hidalgo has a number of Division 1 schools on her shortlist and for good reason because she’s one of the most talented guards in the 2023 class nationally. A fantastic scorer and offensive talent and stellar defensive player, Hidalgo has been nothing short of spectacular for Paul VI.
We now go into the offers segment, beginning with Kamaria Bowens, who received her first scholarship offer from Division 1 MAAC school, Manhattan, over the weekend.
The 2026 sensation is one of a number of incoming freshmen that we’re incredibly excited to watch, and if this is her first offer, she will have plenty more coming her way in due time.
The second offer we saw was of Ewing 2024 standout Te’Yala Delfosse Te’Yala Delfosse 6'2" | SF Ewing | 2024 State NJ , who received a scholarship offer from Stony Brook out of the America East Confernce.
We’ve talked at length about Delfosse and how good she and the rest of that Ewing team is, a state title candidate for each of the next two years without a doubt. As impressive as her offensive game was her shot-blocking ability and knack for causing turnovers and chaos for Ewing.
There were two major commitments we saw over the last week, beginning with the most recent of the three, Immaculate Heart center Ava Naszimento Ava Naszimento 6'1" | C Immaculate Heart | 2023 State NJ , who announced her commitment to play for Central Connecticut State on Monday.
The 2023 forward had an incredibly strong showing as a junior for IHA, posting near-double-double averages while being an impact player anywhere you can think of down on the post. Coming so close last year, she should be able to hit those averages this season.
Our next and final prospect commitment to talk about is 2023 do-it-all forward Katie Gorski Katie Gorski 6'1" | PF Montville | 2023 State NJ from Montville, who announced she’ll be continuing her playing career at Scranton University starting next fall.
What a season for the forward and what a fantastic shooter she is in so many different ways. A gifted scorer, but an even better defensive player, just having such a great feel for the game overall and absolutely dominating opponents down on the block.
