Lytes has shined the brightest under the bright lights throughout her high school career and one can assume that theme will continue for her at the next level. Roughly a week after the regular season had concluded, Lytes announced that she will be staying in-state to play her collegiate ball at Francis Marion. Lytes was one of four from 5A Division 1 Lexington who earned All-Region honors. She would play in all 27 games this past season for coach Molly Goodrich’s Wildcats and would average 9.7 points and two steals per contest. Lytes is one of five seniors on this past season’s Lexington team and was a key catalyst in the Wildcats’ run to the 5A Division 1 Lower State championship game.

Lytes can make an opponent’s aspirations of victory look very dark. The phrase “two-way player” sometimes gets thrown around a bit too loosely. It actually does apply to Lytes. She adds plenty of experience to Lexington as she will be entering her senior season when we tip things off for real in November. As she has gained more of that experience, one can see the progress she has made as a player. In addition to what she can get accomplished as an offensive player, her defense can lead to her offense. Lytes is the type of talent that can come away with a steal on one end, then go the other way to attack the rim, finish strong and earn an and-one opportunity. One more season of hi-Lytes should lead to many more Wildcats wins when the winter months arrive.

Jaleya was all over the floor here today for the Lady Wildcats scoring buckets it seemed. She finished a handful in transition when she wasn’t knocking down jumpers out on the perimeter. Jaleya played plenty of minutes here today and rarely left the floor it seemed. Lytes does a nice job of playing active around and away from the ball at all times.
