Bouncing between the Newton Invitational Tournament and the Mid America Classic some posts laid on multiple moves in the paint to create a shot. Take a look several who stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='347855' first='Ella' last='Anderson'], 5'10", PF, Olathe South, 2024 - Anderson's versatility can cause teams to lose track of her. She runs the floor, passes, and shoots well in the 10'-20' range in a variety of situations. Anderson moves well into space and on the catch, because of her being a shooting threat, and makes use of space to make short drives to score. She takes what defenders give, or do not, to her advantage. Often that results in a double or triple move to create a shot and draw fouls. Anderson does so many small things well that are not seen unless you watch closely.

[player_tooltip player_id='94951' first='Maddi' last='Amekporfor'], 6'0", PF, Andover Central, 2023 - In the Trojan win over previously undefeated Bishop Carroll for the Newton Invitational championship Amekporfor proved to be the difference maker. Carroll's bigs struggled just enough against her in open space that the Eagles went to shorter, quicker players to pressure her. Inside, Amekporfor would overpower the shorter players with her skills, hops, and determination. Against the bigs inside, she would beat defenders to the best position to rebound misses. And because she draw a crowd when she got near the basket with the ball she hit open teammates well or would put together even three or four moves to get a shot off and get to the line. Just tough to handle.

[player_tooltip player_id='191484' first='Paige' last='Chauncey'], 6'0", C, Manhattan, 2023 - Chauncey reminds me a great deal former teammate, and Benedictine College player, Grace Dixon. Very strong, terrific size, and the ability to put together post moves. Her quickness in putting them together is what makes her moves so effective.

[player_tooltip player_id='192842' first='Skylar' last='Pierce'], 6'0", PF/SF, Olathe Northwest, 2024 - Pierce, University of Nebraska volleyball commit, is a major difference maker for the Ravens. She is fast with the ball, can handle in the open court with speed, and uses her serious length and hops to advantage. She out-jumped everybody to get to rebounds on both ends and elevated well on her jumpers. Around the hoop after catching on move, Pierce would work her pivot foot to sell a move to get to the one she wanted to finish with. And with her hops and coordination, if she got to that second move she was automatic with either hand. Among the top volleyball recruits in the country Pierce would have her choice of where to play basketball had that been the direction she preferred to follow.

[player_tooltip player_id='191482' first='Jordan' last='Sears'], 5'10", PF, McPherson, 2023 - Sears plays with quickness, speed, and physicality on both ends of the floor. Defenders flat get abused if they do not actively play the same way. To show a quick target for an entry pass she flat lays some wood on defenders with her hips, spreads out, and calls for the ball where she wants to catch it. And once with the ball expect to see two or three moves routinely to gain the advantage that she wants to get a score. Newman University snagged a good one in Sears.
